I just saw where my google review went from 5 stars to 4.9 stars. A false review has been posted about us by someone named James Brown that I have never heard of before or did any work for. Just letting my customers know this is false and I have reported it to Google.

Just FYI for those that don’t know. By law state safety inspections are $13.60 unless you have after market tinted windows. Then a $10 fee is added to check the tint to be sure it’s within legal specs. There is a spot on the inspection receipt that will be marked showing that windows were checked. To charge any more than this for a safety inspection is illegal. By law customers must be provided with a receipt as well.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted but I had to share this one. Customer brings vehicle in with a coolant leak. Vehicle was at another shop in town and customer was told it would take $1200 for the repair. Vehicle was misdiagnosed as needing a water pump. All it needed was a thermostat housing. $195 out the door. I’m so glad this customer got a second opinion and we got a new customer out of it!

Since one other shop is making fun of me for posting what I see as “highway robbery of good person county residents”. Here’s another one from last week. A young lady called me and said she was told she needed a timing chain put on her car. She asked me how much and timing chains are expensive. They can range from $3500 and up depending on where you get the timing chain kit. She brings her car and says she knows how expensive it is but she had to have her ride. Craig gets out there checking it and it is showing signs of a timing chain issue. Upon further inspection Craig starts checking everything and the car is 5 quarts low on oil. There is no oil under the car, on the chsssis, no oil in the parking lot or anywhere to be found that might have leaked out. All we can figure is that wherever she got her last oil change, somehow the oil didn’t make its way back into the car. Her total cost put the door was $80.40. Not $3500 plus.
Yes, I will always put these incidents out there. I never say a name even though I always know who the shop is but people have a right to know that what you are being told is not always the case. Always get a second opinion!!!

New customer comes in and said he took his car in for an alignment. Was told he needed over $2000 work done to the front end. He’s on a fixed income and can’t afford that. He calls us and we get it in and check it and it only needs 2 sway bar links and 2 tie rods. $344.00. We also did 2 tire sensors so total cost for everything was $572.00.
Always get a second opinion and remember if you need work done just give us a call and we’ll get you a reasonable quote.

Ok, so a new customer gets her car towed to our shop. The local shop it was at diagnosed a bad transmission. Customer stated to me their price for job (transmission) and a flywheel just bc “they tend to go bad”was $9000. $4000 up front before they start.
Craig cranks it up and immediately notices the flywheel is broken (the sound is awful) and yes the transmission is bad but there is also a leak in the engine rear main seal which was not diagnosed by former shop. Our cost out the door for everything including transmission swap, repairing the oil leak and flywheel. Parts, labor and tax $4,994.00. Always shop around. It’s better to pay for a $75 tow than an extra $4000 to leave it where it is.
