Ever noticed some luxury vehicles have a windshield that looks purple or blue in certain lighting?

That’s not a tint or an aftermarket film.

Many manufacturers use solar coated glass from the factory. A microscopic metallic coating is bonded into the glass during manufacturing to help reflect a portion of the sun’s infrared and UV energy. The result is:

* ☀️ A cooler cabin
* 🕶️ Reduced glare
* 🌡️ Less strain on your A/C
* 🛡️ Better UV protection for your interior

The purple or blue color you see is simply the light reflecting off that special coating.

Not every replacement windshield includes this feature, so if your vehicle came equipped with solar coated glass from the factory, it’s important to choose the correct replacement.
