Our Condolences to the Hortman and Haluptzok Families.

It is with heavy hearts, we remember former professional auto recycler Mark Hortman.

Mark was tragically gunned down alongside his wife Melissa early Saturday morning in their Brooklyn Park, Minnesota home. They were victims of what appears to be a political assassination targeting his wife, Minnesota Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman.

Mark was the Chief Operating Officer for John’s Auto Parts in Blaine, Minnesota prior to the sale of the company. Mark still has many friends in the recycling community, even though he moved on to another chapter in his professional career. Mark was intelligent, thoughtful and always had a smile on his face. Anyone who knew Mark, knew of his love and admiration for his family.

Harry Haluptzok, the former owner of John’s Auto Parts and Past President of ARA (1994) is the father of Melissa, and Mark’s father in law.

The ARA extends its deepest condolences to the Hortman and Haluptzok families.
