Please join us in congratulating Katie Davis, our February Associate of the Month at Cavco – Rocky Mount!

Katie has been part of the Cavco team for nearly four years, and during that time she has taken on several roles across the plant, including painting, exteriors, and walls. She first began her leadership journey in the Exteriors Department, where she quickly demonstrated her dedication and ability to support the team. Eventually, she transitioned to the Walls Department, where she continues to make a strong impact.

In her current role, Katie helps determine the workflow of the wall dock and assists the team in addressing quality concerns along the way, helping ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

Looking ahead, Katie hopes to continue expanding her knowledge and skillset over the next five years as she further develops in her role and career.

Outside of work, Katie and her husband stay busy with their blended family of six children, ranging in age from 4 to 16. When they’re not cheering on their kids at basketball, soccer, and baseball games, they enjoy spending time outdoors together with bonfires and hiking adventures.

Katie is a tremendous asset to our plant. Her willingness to jump in and help wherever needed does not go unnoticed, and we appreciate the positive impact she brings to the team every day.

We’re proud that Katie has chosen to build her career here at Cavco – Rocky Mount, and we’re excited to see what the future holds for her.

We were excited to welcome a group of students and teachers from Carroll County High School to our plant today for a facility tour!

A total of 28 students and 2 teachers joined us to learn more about what we do and to get a behind-the-scenes look at our operations. The group was divided into three teams and guided through the plant by Tom Frate (Safety Supervisor), Jamey Young (Quality Assurance Manager), and Zach Boitnott (Production Manager), who shared insights about our processes, equipment, and career opportunities in manufacturing.

We always enjoy the opportunity to connect with students and give them a closer look at the skills, technology, and teamwork that go into our daily work. Thank you to the students and staff for taking the time to visit—we hope you found the experience informative and inspiring!

This month, we are proud to recognize Ashley Goss from our Cabinet Shop Department as our Associate of the Month! 👏

Although Ashley hasn’t been with us long, she has already made a lasting impact on the cabinet team. From day one, she jumped right in and has become an important part of the department. Ashley is responsible for base cabinet finishing (paneling), helping to ensure every home we build has beautifully finished cabinets ready for installation. Her attention to detail and strong work ethic truly shows in her work.

Before joining our team, Ashley worked in warehouse settings and spent six years driving a school bus and working in the bus garage. She’s no stranger to hard work and isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty — something that makes her such a great fit in the cabinet shop.

When asked what brought her here, she joked that it was the money — but what makes her stay is much more meaningful. Ashley shared that she genuinely enjoys what she does and appreciates the people she works alongside each day.
Outside of work, Ashley has been married to her lovely wife for five years, and together they’re raising five teenagers — which she admits is no small task! On top of that, she’s excitedly preparing to welcome her first grandchild in the coming months. 💛

In her free time, Ashley enjoys reading — especially crime and thriller novels (nothing too predictable!). She loves cooking savory Southern comfort meals for her family, though baking isn’t quite her thing. When summer rolls around, you can find Ashley and her family soaking up the sun on trips to the beach.

When asked about her five-year plan, Ashley shared that she hopes to still be here, continuing to grow in her role and deepen her knowledge. We are excited to watch her continue to develop and make an impact on our team.

Production will resume at 8am on Wednesday, 01/28/26 - all attendance expectations apply. Maintenance should report at 7am. As a reminder, Saturday, 01/31/26, is a scheduled workday.

Cavco–Rocky Mount will not run production on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, due to inclement weather.

The office will remain open for employees who are able to make it in safely. Employees who do not work directly in production should contact their direct manager for guidance.

Please note: Due to recent closures, additional Saturdays will be scheduled this quarter to make up lost production. The first scheduled Saturday will be January 31, 2026.

As of Monday, 01/26/26, Cavco–Rocky Mount will not run production due to inclement weather. Please note: Saturday, 01/31/26, is now a scheduled workday and all attendance expectations apply. For employees who do not work directly in production (material handlers, maintenance, supervisors, and office personnel), the parking lot will be cleared for anyone who needs to come in, if they are able to do so safely. Please join us in congratulating Harrin Nunez from our Tops & Electrical Department as Associate of the Month for December!

Harrin has been a valued member of our team for 1 year and 3 months, where he plays a key role running and securing electrical wiring throughout our homes. Since joining the team, Harrin has brought a consistently positive attitude and a strong desire to learn. His willingness to take on new challenges has allowed him to become trained on multiple jobs within his department, making him a true asset to our operation.

Originally from San Pedro Sula, Honduras, Harrin joined Cavco because he wanted to try something new and truly challenge himself. He continues to push his limits and is focused on becoming a master in electrical and construction in the years ahead.

Harrin currently lives in Virginia with his beautiful mother, while the rest of his family remains back home in Honduras. When he’s not at work, you’ll find him enjoying nature, exploring new places, and spending time with friends. Whether it’s playing soccer, watching UFC or boxing, or trying out whatever fun idea comes to mind, Harrin and his friends are always looking for their next adventure.

This year, our hearts are full at Cavco – Rocky Mount. Our 2nd Annual Angel Tree Event was an incredible success, with 40 children added to the tree—and every single one was provided for by our amazing associates.

This Angel Tree is especially meaningful. In a time when so many families are struggling, it truly goes to show the good-natured hearts of our team and their genuine desire to help those in need. The generosity, compassion, and unity displayed by our associates is something we are incredibly proud of.

We are so grateful for each and every one of our associates who helped make this possible. Thanks to you, the 2nd Annual Angel Tree was once again a success, and many children will experience a brighter holiday season. ❤️
