Why do you need to lock out the VVT cam phaser when upgrading your camshaft? 🤔

Not every camshaft is designed to work with Variable Valve Timing (VVT). When installing a non-VVT cam with increased lift and duration, leaving the VVT cam phaser unlocked can allow unwanted movement and increase the risk of piston-to-valve contact. 💥

Whether you’re running a stock VVT cam, a limited-VVT setup, or a fully locked-out configuration, proper installation and tuning are critical.
