How did you get your number
80085 was assigned to me by my car owner but my usual number 56 I chose after my dad and I started racing against eachother racing remote control cars. I let him have his 55 and I decided to choose between 54 and 56. I had to one up him

Earliest racing memory
I always try to remember this but I have two that im not sure which one is earlier. I have a lot of memories of the old Grant county speedway and a very vivid memory of my father winning there when I was very young. I have another memory of watching Andy Eckrich ripping the top in his late model at dubuque and I knew thats what I wanted to do.

Favorite track
Dubuque county fairgrounds speedway. It usually has nice wide, multi-groove racing.

Plans for 2026
As of now none. I was on a week by week basis in 2025. If it wasnt for other financial goals you would see me on track 3 nights a week in our local area.

Who do you enjoy racing with
I really enjoy racing my father. This summer has created a lot of core memories for me that I know I will remember for the rest of my life. Outside of family though I have to say Bud Riedner has been fun to race with. Very clean and very nice fella.

Where would you like to end up
I wanna get up into the IMCA sport mods, stock cars or modifieds. These have been my favorite classes to watch my whole life and I feel I know the most about them.

I grew up at the race track watching all my uncles, Kevin and Kelly racing at the Farley speedway

When my dad started back racing he was number 4r, so I figured I would just carry on the number 4 and go 4L.

What’s your earliest racing memory?
I remember being a kid and going to watch my dad race at blue grass, running around on the playgrounds with my cousins. Good times.

Favorite track?
Cedar county in Tipton is always fun! Boone Speedway is also a blast!

Plans for 2026
Plan is to race all the Travis Denning crown vic races, and to hit a lot of weekly shows around the area, and then the specials at the end of the year.

Who do you enjoy racing with the most?
I’ve only race a few times in my career, I don’t really have anyone yet!

Where would you like to see your racing career go?
Winning races and having fun! Just continuing to get better every race and see where things take me! Would be really cool to race with my dad before he hangs it up for good!

Going to the races in Lancaster in the 90s and watching the Cal Robbins/ Steve Hoffman racing team.

Grant County Speedway Lancaster, WI

Plans for 2026?
Run the Crown Vic Summer Series. Also race as much as I can at Darlington and select races at other tracks

Drew Stoutenborough and all the Top Cop Race Shop cars

Where would you like to see your racing career go. My main goal jumping into a crown vic is to help build the class. Race Dubuque weekly, support as many tracks as possible in the area. Help grow the class in the Tri States by getting some new faces behind the wheel.

Who do you enjoy racing with the most?
The BackPack Banditz (Derrick Dean 8D8, Dave Culbertson 31, Nick Glynn 38). We convinced each other to build cars this past year and now we’re always trying to talk each other into traveling to new tracks.

After taking a walk through the pits, Brad Morning with Slick Performance decided that the $500 “Brain Bucket” certificate should go to Brad Wilson. He loved the desire that Mr. Wilson showed, so much so that Brad Wilson was sharing a helmet with his son because they only had one helmet between the two of them. While we love the “anything to go racing” mentality, we feel that Brad needs his own helmet.

Welter wins big at Maquoketa

Jacob Welter showed up at Maquoketa for the Iowa Dirt Nationals with a slim point lead over Manny Bennit and Bud Riedner.

Welter would win the heat race in a last lap pass over Will Schmidt. Welter than pulled a 2 for the redraw which would start him outside the front row for the 12 lap TDM Crown Vic Cup feature.

Derrick Dean would take the initial lead until the only caution of the event would fly on lap 4. This re-racked the field putting Welter and Ross Crist in the second Row and Bud Riedner and Robbie Culbertson on the 3rd row. When the race resumed Welter and Crist would power around the outside of Dean to claim the top 2 spots just as they did last weekend at Darlington. The two would duke it out for the final 5 laps. On the last lap Crist threw a Hail Mary into turn 3 trying to slide infront of Welter but momentum would carry the 49 past Crist and across the line infront of Crist.

Following Welter across the line was Ross Crist, Derrick Dean, Bud Riedner, and Robbie Culbertson
