Union’s car show has been cancelled this year.

The organizers made the call yesterday, and after two weather postponements it’s the right one. We’ll be back when it is — and the booth, the live correction, and the giveaway come back with it.

If you were planning to stop by with a question about your paint, send it here instead. Happy to answer it — and if it’s easier to just look at it in person, we come to you. I’m in Union, serving North/Central NJ.

Most people look at a show car from six feet. A detailer looks from six inches.

Three things we check that the crowd never sees: light raking across the panel, because that’s where swirls and holograms hide. A paint-thickness gauge, because it tells you whether a panel’s been corrected before — or repainted. And the edges, because careful work shows in the seams first.

This Sunday at Union’s car show, we’re doing all three on a full vehicle, live at our booth — gloss readings before and after the correction, so you can watch the number change. Union Center (Morris & Stuyvesant Aves), October 11, 11am–6pm. Free to attend.

Come find the black van. Bring your questions about your own paint — and while you’re there, scan at the booth for a chance at a $200 gift card toward any Lets Detail service (18+, no purchase necessary, rules at the booth).

Union’s car show has moved to Sunday, October 11.

Weather called it — the organizers pushed the Car, Truck & Bike Show to its rain date. Same place (Union Center, Morris & Stuyvesant Aves), same hours, 11am–6pm.

Nothing changes at our booth: a full vehicle corrected live, gloss meter readings before and after, and the $200 gift card toward any Lets Detail service — entered at the booth, 18+, no purchase necessary. The drawing moves with it, to October 14.

One more week of prep. We’ll take it. Come find the black van on the 11th.

UPDATE: moved to Sunday, October 11 — same place, same hours.

This Sunday at Union’s car show, we’re giving away a $200 gift card toward any Lets Detail service.

One way to enter: come find the black van at Union Center (Morris & Stuyvesant Aves), Sunday, October 4, 11am–6pm. Scan the code at our booth — 20 seconds, no purchase necessary. Drawing October 7; the winner hears from us directly.

While you’re there, walk the carpet and watch a full vehicle get corrected live — gloss meter readings before and after, so you can see the number change. Bring your questions about your own paint; that’s what we’re there for.

18+, one entry per person. Full rules posted at the booth. This giveaway is not sponsored, endorsed, or administered by Instagram, Facebook, or Meta.

“Never get your engine wet.” You’ve heard it — here’s the truth.

Modern engine bays handle careful cleaning just fine. The keyword is careful: it’s a method, not a garden hose.

And a clean bay isn’t vanity — it’s visibility. You can’t spot a small leak or a cracked hose under three years of road grime. That’s why engine bay cleaning is part of our Ultimate Detail.

I’m in Union, serving North/Central NJ. If your engine bay has never been touched — message me about the Ultimate Detail.

UPDATE: moved to Sunday, October 11 — same place, same hours.

Union NJ’s car show is two Sundays away — and we’re bringing the instruments.

Sunday, October 4, 11am–6pm, Union Center (Morris & Stuyvesant Aves). Free to attend. We’ll be correcting paint on a full vehicle, live at our booth — gloss meter readings before and after, so you can watch the number change.

If you’ve ever wondered what your paint actually measures, bring the question. We’ll be the black van with the carpet rolled out.

More details as we get closer — including something we’re giving away.

“Looks shiny” is an opinion. A number is a standard.

Before polishing, a paint-thickness gauge tells me how much clear coat I can safely work with. After, a gloss meter measures exactly how the finish changed. Measure before, measure after — never guess with someone’s paint.

That’s the engineering habit behind every paint correction we do.

I’m in Union, serving North/Central NJ. If you want your paint treated like an engineered surface — message me.

That’s not the sky. That’s the hood.

This Suburban’s black paint was full of the fine scratches every black car collects — the ones that scatter light and dull the finish. A two-stage paint correction removed them. A ceramic coating sealed the result in.

Then we verified it with a gloss meter, because “looks shiny” isn’t a standard — a number is.

Thank you Rintu Mathew trusting us with it — and for lending an extra set of hands on this one.

If your black paint has stopped reflecting and started scattering — I’m in Union, serving North/Central NJ. Message me about paint correction and ceramic coating.

Most details stop at the paint.

Our Ultimate Detail doesn’t. Thank you Blesson Samuel for trusting us with your A6 — it got the full treatment in your driveway: engine bay cleaned and dressed, wheels decontaminated down to the barrels, a proper foam wash, and an interior detail that brought a decade of leather back to life.

The lesson: a car is a set of systems, and each one collects its own kind of neglect. “Ultimate” just means none of them get skipped.

If your car has a few systems that have been waiting their turn — I’m in Union, serving North/Central NJ. Message me anytime about an Ultimate Detail.

Detailing, with the sound on.

No voiceover today. Just a full detail in the order it actually happens — from a day working alongside my friend Mike at Michael Delaney .

Every sound has a job: compressed air pushes debris out of seams a vacuum can’t reach, foam lifts dirt off the paint so nothing gets dragged across it, and the blower dries the car without a towel ever touching wet dust.

Which sound is the best one? I have a strong opinion.

If your car deserves this kind of care — I’m in Union, serving North/Central NJ. Message me anytime.
