This weekend at Laguna Seca is a special one for us.

For the throwback event, the #55 Gou Racing Audi RS3 LMS will carry a livery inspired by a car raced by Eduardo Gou Sr. in Mexico during the 80s and 90s. He passed away in 2014, but his passion for racing is still a big part of everything we do today.

This design brings back to the 80-90s era GOU colors and branding from our family business, a reminder of our origins both on track and off. The original car competed in the Reto Neon series in Mexico, and even earlier, Eduardo Sr. raced in IMSA events in the 70s and 80s.

Being able to bring this livery back and run it at Laguna Seca means a lot to our family and our team. It is more than just a throwback, it is a tribute to the person who started it all for us.

Race Recap Round 1: BMW M Endurance Challenge at Daytona (IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge)

The 2026 season officially began for us at Daytona International Speedway with the BMW M Endurance Challenge at Daytona, and the lead up was every bit as demanding as the race itself. As round one of the season, it was also an exciting moment for us as we kicked off the year as a partnered race team with Stallion Motorsports. With the Roar Before the Rolex 24 taking place the week prior, our program started early with long days, detailed preparation, and nonstop work to be ready for the first endurance round of the year.

When the green flag dropped, the race delivered the intensity Daytona is known for. Eduardo Gou opened the event with a strong first stint, managing several clean passes and keeping the car exactly where we needed it, competitive, composed, and out of trouble. The plan was clear. Eduardo would start, hand the car over to Eddie for the second stint, and Jon Morley would bring it home to the finish. Our focus was to keep the car clean through the full four hours and put ourselves in position to fight at the end.

Everything was moving in the right direction until the second hour. After a great pit stop, we rejoined under yellow, only to be hit from behind during the caution. We were caught as innocent bystanders when a separate TCR and GS incident unfolded behind us. The damage was unfortunately too extensive to continue, forcing an early retirement.

That is racing. Daytona can be unforgiving, and even in endurance racing, events occur in an instant. This will not stop us from pushing even harder. The entire team is already focused on the next round at Sebring, and we are working hard to return even stronger.
