Apparently the photographers left before our big announcement last night. We put rockets on the van too.

I remembered to charge the glasses! 😂 Here’s a fun one from today.

If your engine’s shaking like a salt shaker, don’t go changing spark plugs just yet. It’s not always a misfire or something wrong inside the engine. A busted motor mount can cause a whole lot of shaking, vibration and clunking too.

Nothing humbles a mechanic like finishing a job… then having it barely make it around the block. Yesterday we did lower control arms and axles on a 2010 Lexus RX350.

Book says pull the engine for the control arms. Managed to get them done without all that, so I’m feeling pretty good heading out for the test drive. Apparently a little too good.

Suddenly… no power, check engine light. Car’s freaking out, I’m freaking out, and naturally it starts raining. I’m mentally reviewing every bolt I’ve touched since kindergarten.

Get it back into the customer’s garage and find the intake tube slipped off the throttle body. Strange, didn’t touch that. Secure it… runs perfectly. I’m standing there like, there’s no way.

Customer says, “Yeah, it’s been running a little rough lately.” Apparently it was already loose, and I must’ve helped it the rest of the way off during the job.

Saved myself pulling an engine. Lost six years of my life to a hose clamp. 🤦‍♂️

Mattix and I have been cheering on the Packers since our dorm days in Dover, Delaware, almost 19 years ago. Different countries, different careers, and somehow we both ended up in Tampa last year. Tiffany’s military retirement and Mattix’s final base before retirement from the Air Force. Today, we finally get to catch a game together!

A big thank you to Christine Flora, Erin McGonagle, and What The Buc for inviting us out. You made two longtime friends pretty happy today… although letting us in wearing Packers gear might’ve been an oversight 😂 Go Pack Go!

I think most of you know by now… I’m a little different. I probably think too much, but those chopsticks really hit me for some reason.

Life can change pretty fast, and things don’t always go the way we planned. Somehow, those chopsticks reminded me that sometimes a little support is all it takes to keep everything from falling apart.

So instead of throwing them away, we made this. About to go and drop it off. Hopefully they don’t hit me with the Rocks eyebrow when I hand it to them. 😂

I have a problem.

I’m fixing the window regulator on a 2008 Jeep Wrangler, and apparently this thing has had two chopsticks wedged in the door holding the window up for years. The Jeep came from Puerto Rico. These chopsticks came with it.

And now I’m supposed to just fix the window and throw them away? Absolutely not! 😂 I don’t know why, but that feels wrong. Those little heroes held it together for who knows how long. They earned something.

So now I’m thinking a frame. Maybe a tiny plaque. Maybe dip them in paint and turn them into some unnecessarily dramatic piece of art. I haven’t decided yet.

But they’re not going in the trash. They’ve done too much for this family.

So I’m working on two cars at the same house today.

One had A/C blowing hot, got that fixed and blowing cold again, then I moved over to the daughter’s car.

A little while later she comes outside and tells me her dad said, “Tell him thank you. Now your mom will stop complaining.”

I just nodded like a professional and went back to work.

Apparently that A/C repair solved a little more than I showed up for.

I’m staying completely neutral on this one. I have to go home to my wife too….😂

Hey everyone! Still over here working on cars, nuts and bolts, you know… but this absolutely made my day.

Memphis has this weird obsession with the gopher tortoise that lives in our backyard. We actually check before letting him out because, for reasons known only to Memphis, he desperately wants to mess with this thing. Well… today I didn’t see him.

I let Memphis out, he’s doing his thing, and I walk inside for literally a minute to grab breakfast. I come back out and Memphis has the tortoise in his mouth. Before I could open the door, Memphis proceeds to FLING him into the air like like he found the world’s worst dog toy.

Now I’m freaking out, the tortoise is briefly achieving speeds no tortoise was ever designed for, and Memphis is trying to catch him on the way down. Except the tortoise comes down, bops Memphis right in the head, and Memphis immediately runs crying back into the house.

The tortoise pauses for about two seconds like he’s processing what just happened… then casually scoots right back toward his hole. I just stood there holding my breakfast like I had somehow wandered into an episode of National Geographic.

Memphis is a very smart dog…. sometimes 🤦‍♂️
