Everyone is always trying to fast or in the front. We winched this customer out of a bad predicament after he was run off the road by another truck on I-75 where a construction project is merging traffic down to one lane. Now, of course we are happy to be the one called to assist but I can’t help being a little upset that things like this continue to happen. Especially in construction zones.

It’s ok to slow down and let that vehicle merge over. It’s imperative to be alert and cautious while driving but especially in sensitive situations like construction zones and the work zones of other roadside workers. Luckily this customer only required a winch back to the road and was able to continue on with his morning. Many drivers aren’t as fortunate. Some of these situations end with much worse consequences.

STAY ALERT!!! BE COURTEOUS!!!! SLOW DOWN!!!

Do you own a larger sized AWD or 4WD vehicle? If so keep us in mind. Our 30 foot LCG carrier has a weight capacity of 16,000 lbs. It was the perfect truck for this job.

Our customer had this Sprinter van with blown rear tires and was stranded on the interstate. The van is definitely one of the largest passenger vehicles on the road. This one was a one ton van that was diesel powered with a long wheelbase and dual rear wheels. In addition to that it had been converted into a mobility van. It had a lot of extras added to the interior such as a wheel chair lift, video entertainment, 110v shore power, kitchenette, toilet, and more. The underside also carried fresh water and black water storage tanks. Oh, and I almost forgot, it was All Wheel Drive.

All of this extra equipment added a bunch of weight that the typical carrier wouldn’t be able to handle without being severely over its manufacturer weight ratings. This vehicle with rear flat tires and all wheel drive is the perfect storm. Too heavy for a standard bed and difficult to tow with a traditional wrecker. The low deck height, increased deck capacity, and GVWR of our truck # 40 was the perfect combination to get this customer’s van off of the interstate and delivered to the dealership service department without a hassle.

So if you have a larger sized vehicle that needs to be or you prefer it to be carried on a bed, give us a call and tell them that you want truck #40. 😍
