🔧 Before ➡️ After: Jeep Wrangler Hinge Restoration
If you own a Jeep Wrangler or Gladiator, you’ve probably heard about the aluminum corrosion issues that have plagued Mopar vehicles for years and years. It’s a common problem that affects many model years, with corrosion forming beneath the paint on the door hinges, hood hinges, the leading edge of the hood, and the lower corners of the doors. Over time, the paint begins to bubble, peel, and lift. To make matters worse, hinge bolts can seize, break, or spin, making it nearly impossible to remove your doors.
This customer came to us with all three of these common hinge-related issues at once—aluminum corrosion causing the paint to bubble and peel, seized and spinning hinge bolts, and damaged factory hinges that needed replacement.
Here’s how we fixed it:
✔️ Removed the damaged factory hinges
✔️ Installed brand-new OEM Mopar hinges
✔️ Applied a corrosion-resistant sealer before installation to help protect against future corrosion
✔️ Mounted and aligned the hinges before painting
✔️ Painted the hinges on the vehicle, just like the factory, so the bolt heads are color-matched for a true OEM finish
✔️ Touched up the surrounding paint that can get marked during removal and installation as a courtesy to our customer
The result? A factory-quality repair with a fast 1–2 day turnaround that restores both the appearance and function of the Jeep. Now this customer can remove the doors again for beach days without fighting seized bolts or damaged hinges.
If you’re starting to notice paint bubbling, corrosion on your hood or door hinges, corrosion along the front edge of your hood or the lower corners of your doors, or hinge bolts that won’t come out, don’t wait until it gets worse. We can repair it without breaking the bank and have you back on the road quickly.
