Waiting for prices to come down may not be the best strategy. **Making sure your vehicle is operating as efficiently as possible is something you can control.**

At Christian Brothers Automotive of Rio Rancho, we’ll provide a **FREE courtesy inspection** to help identify issues that could be costing you fuel economy.

Here are a few things to consider:

**1. Are your tires properly inflated?**
Underinflated tires create more rolling resistance and can reduce fuel economy.

**2. Is your vehicle properly aligned?**
Poor alignment can cause unnecessary tire wear and additional resistance, making your vehicle work harder.

**3. Is your vehicle due for a tune-up?**

How about my brake fluid? Brake fluid absorbs moisture, reducing its braking effectiveness over time. In some cases, old bake fluid can freeze if its absorbed enough moisture.

Changing your automotive fluids periodically is as important as getting an oil change.

Recently, after receiving a vehicle to donate, CBA Ocotillo gave their time, talent and expertise to ensure it was safe and reliable on the road. Once it was ready, they began praying about who should receive it. As they sought God’s direction, one organization kept coming to mind: Teen Challenge Home of Hope.

When the team reached out to the home’s director, they discovered one of the ministry’s staff members, Jewells, had been faithfully praying for reliable transportation. A graduate of Home of Hope herself, Jewells chose to remain after completing the program, first serving as an intern before joining the staff. Today, she dedicates her life to serving the women and children who find refuge and healing through the ministry.

The director shared that she and Jewells had been praying specifically for a vehicle and believed God had already promised to provide one. The call from the Ocotillo team was the answer they had been waiting for.

It's getting cold out there. Is your car ready? Cold weather makes cars do some weird things. If you hear funny noises, most will go away. If they persist, it's a possible sign of something going bad. Let us check it out.

Fuel prices are insane. Inflation is running rampant. New cars are close to impossible to find and used vehicles prices are at ridiculous levels.

How can I make my car last and how can I help it get better mileage? There are several important things that are must do’s to accomplish this.

1) Maintenance- change not just your engine oil, but keep other fluids in your vehicle changed to manufacturer recommendations. An ill performing transmission can cause a drag on mileage. And proper maintenance by changing fluids can help you prevent $3000 plus transmission repairs.

2) Proper tire inflation and alignments. Alignments? Yes, when your front end is out of wack it does make your car push your tires. When they wear unevenly, it’s because you car is literally pushing tires against the natural rotation. Your manufacturer has recommended tire pressures to ensure proper handling and enhance fuel economy.

Your suspension system can also cause tire wear. When your suspension system has issues, you car does not ride how the manufacturer designed.

3) Tune ups- never changes spark plugs? Wires? Cleaned your fuel system? How about your air filter? These all ensure your car is running as efficiently as possible.

These days we have to keep our cars longer than ever. And as your car ages it needs more maintenance. Just like me, my doctor sees me more now than when I was 20, and to keep me running right I need more maintenance to do that. Your car is no different. Proper maintenance is not just changing oil every 5,000 miles.
