Already have an Accessport and want more than an off-the-shelf map? That’s exactly where custom tuning starts to make sense.

Jose’s hybrid Tacoma in Oregon is now custom tuned on 92 octane.

He already owned a COBB Accessport and was looking for something more customized than an off-the-shelf map. That’s where my process comes in: review the truck, build the calibration around the actual setup and fuel, look at the datalogs, make revisions where needed, and explain what I’m seeing along the way.

His feedback:

“Thank you again for all the help and for taking the time to explain everything throughout the tuning process. I really appreciate that you actually explain the reasoning behind things instead of just giving a quick answer, which honestly isn’t something you get from everyone.”

That part matters to me. Remote tuning should still feel like you’re working with an actual person, not just uploading a log and getting a mystery file back.

Another Puerto Rico Tacoma dialed in on 93. 🇵🇷

Juan’s Tacoma is now custom tuned with the COBB Accessport.

Setup includes a SXTH intake and intercooler, FaF downpipe, and exhaust turndown.

Boost leak testing. Don’t overlook the basics.
A small leak in the charge system can cause reduced performance, inconsistent boost, and unnecessary wastegate compensation. Even a truck that feels perfectly fine can have a leak that becomes apparent under load.
This is why datalogging is such an important part of my tuning process. I’m not just sending out a calibration and calling it done. I review actual operating data to verify that the vehicle is performing as expected.
A tune can only be as good as the mechanical condition of the vehicle. Find the leaks, fix the problems, and let the calibration do its job.

Another one on the islands. Elijah’s Tacoma in Kahului, Hawaii is now running a CAMTuning custom calibration with the SXTH intake.

My process stays the same no matter where the truck is—start with the right setup, review the datalogs closely, and refine the calibration based on the truck, the parts, and the fuel it’s actually using. That’s how you end up with something that feels better everywhere, not just a tune that looks good on paper.
