🚨What happens to Tri-County Racetrack in 2026, Brasstown Bullring🚨
As the 2025 season comes to an end, we can’t help but think ahead to 2026. Whether you’re a fan or driver, a hot topic of discussion for the off-season is, will Tri-County Racetrack open the doors in 2026?
After the late Jack Wimpey passed away in 2023, Ray Cook and the new owners could not reach an agreement, which resulted in the closure of the 3/8-mile oval. Cook promoted the Brasstown Bull Ring for over a decade, hosting some of the most significant events recorded.
After setting Idle for over a year, Jamie Oliver and Jason Welshan, with J & J Promotions, came to terms with new track owners. They immediately gave the bull ring a necessary facelift, consisting of, but not limited to, new pit parking, upgraded bathrooms with new toilets and sinks, more handicap-accessible areas, upgraded bleachers, a new payment terminal for concessions, and an upgraded press box. However, after all the upgrades, Mother Nature took most of the checkered flags for 2025.
A November 12, 2025, message to NSD reporters confirmed that Jamie Oliver would not reapply for promotions in 2026. The message reported that the lease wasn’t up until March 2026.
Later in the same evening, a phone call by NSD reporters confirmed a short conversation with Jason Welshan, who reported he didn’t have any plans at this time for 2026, but also confirmed the lease wasn’t up until March 2026
Stay tuned for updates.
