Today a Cadillac was brought in after the customer replaced a steering gear for us to program the new steering gear. When we asked why they replaced it they said the vehicle didn’t have power steering and still doesn’t. They hoped programming would fix the issue. Knowing it would not fix the problem we decided to look into the issue only to find the vehicle had no communication with every module on the same high speed network. After a few hours we found the problem! The passengers front seatbelt shorted out which was causing no power steering.
