For RV rental operators, October marks the natural transition out of peak season.

Before winter sets in, it’s a good idea to review vehicle condition and schedule any deferred maintenance, confirm documentation is complete and up to date for each unit, and take stock of what worked well this season and what could be improved before next year's RV travel season gets underway.

Operators who use the off-season intentionally tend to start the following year in a noticeably stronger position. ARRC supports RV rental operators with the resources and guidance to make that kind of preparation straightforward. Learn more at arrc.net.

Most rental operators learn the business by doing — which means a lot of trial and error, unanswered questions, and processes that develop inconsistently over time.

The ARRC Operations Manual gives members something most operators don't have: a complete, rental-specific reference guide covering everything from business planning and rental contracts to counter procedures, fleet management, rates and additional products, and marketing. It's written specifically for rental operators, not adapted from a generic business guide.

For new operators, it provides a clear framework from day one. For established operators, it's a useful benchmark for tightening up what's already in place.

ARRC's program is designed for standard rental fleet vehicles. Most conventional cars, light trucks, vans, RVs, and street-legal LSVs qualify. There are a few categories that don't, and knowing those upfront can save time on both sides.

If you're unsure whether your fleet qualifies, the best next step is a quick conversation with the ARRC team.

What part of ARRC membership do our members report using nearly every day? The Member Website!

Through the ARRC member portal, operators can pay bills, make fleet changes, add drivers, access rental forms and supplies, and manage their account — all in one place. For operators who have been juggling multiple systems or handling everything manually, that kind of consolidated access makes a real difference in how efficiently the business runs day to day.

Q4 brings its own set of demands for rental operators: year-end fleet decisions, coverage reviews, holiday travel demand, and the general pressure of closing out the year in a strong position.

ARRC members head into Q4 with access to group-rate commercial fleet insurance, operational resources, a preferred vendor network, free employee training, and a USA-based team that knows the rental business and can help when questions come up.

If you've been considering membership, the time to get set up is before you need it. Coverage is typically bound within 24 hours of receiving signed documents. Learn more and get started at arrc.net.

Rental software isn't just for businesses managing hundreds of vehicles. For a smaller operation, the right software can reduce the time spent on manual tracking, keep reservation and vehicle records organized, and create a more professional experience for customers — without requiring a large team to manage it.

ARRC members get access to rental software programs at discounted rates through the membership. Whether you're running a handful of vehicles or a growing fleet, it's worth taking a look at what the right tools could do for your operation.

Business travel car rental rates in the U.S. and Canada are forecast to rise between 1.5% and 2% in 2026-27. While improved vehicle availability may help limit larger increases, insurance, repair costs, and softer residual values continue to put pressure on rental operations.

For rental operators, these trends reinforce the importance of watching both pricing and operating costs. Understanding what’s driving rate changes can help operators make more informed decisions and protect profitability as market conditions evolve. https://bit.ly/4gzhu2q
