Another one of our Nitro State Team brings home the victory! Let's hear it for Tyler Craighead and his dad for winning the AIM event out of Green bay. Read his recap below to see how he caught his winning weight.
May 10th, 2026, Second stop of the Aim Pro Walleye series. My first Aim event of the year.
Launching out of Metro Boat launch in Green Bay WI.
My dad was my partner for this tournament. We teamed up with another boat to help break down water. I focused on the west shore. Focusing on shallow flats looking for the warmest water. Winds were strong out of the WNW every day. I mostly jigged but did troll to cover more water quicker. Trolling turned up a twenty-five” walleye. We knew that size was not going to win on tournament day. We fished the water from Suamico to Peshtigo. Every spot I stopped produced fish but never large enough ones for tournament day. My tournament partner boat found the right size fish on the east side.
Tournament day I told my dad to put his ear buds in and hold on. We made a 61-mile run one way to get to our spot. We threw hair jigs on rocks and lost twice as many jigs as fish caught. Our first fish was twenty-four inches 10 min after getting to our spot. We then got a 27” before getting our 1st of four 29” + walleyes. We had five fish by 9am. We fished at the same small spot for 4 hours and managed to catch a total of fifteen walleyes. Our five biggest were good enough for 50.86lbs and 1St place. At 12:30 the winds picked up strong from the north, and we knew we had a good bag so we decided to head back south and take our time, so we would not break any equipment on the Nitro ZV21.
