💡 DID YOU KNOW?❓
A cabin air filter—which filters the air you breathe—can trap dust, pollen, leaves, and other debris. If left unchanged, a clogged filter causes a domino effect of hidden problems:
🌟Restricted Airflow: A blocked filter restricts the airflow coming out of your vents, forcing your heating and A/C system to work twice as hard to cool down or heat up the cabin.
🌟Mechanical Strain: When a filter is packed tight, loose debris can fall directly into the blower motor. This can cause annoying ticks, vibrations, or premature motor failure.
🌟Component Damage: Fine debris that slips past a clogged filter can make its way into your A/C system. This traps moisture, reduces cooling efficiency, and can lead to costly component corrosion.
🌟Health Risks: In our region, small rodents love to nest inside cabin filter housings. If a filter becomes packed with rodent debris and droppings, the air you and your family breathe is pulled directly through that contamination.
Vehicle manufacturers recommend replacing the cabin air filter at specific intervals (usually every 15,000 to 30,000 miles, or once a year) precisely to protect these sensitive systems and keep your cabin air clean.
Checking it is usually done with an oil change inspection—and a simple way to protect your health and your vehicle's HVAC system!
