It’s been a little quiet over here lately.

With everything that has happened throughout our community over the last couple weeks, it just didn’t feel right to keep posting like everything was normal. Sometimes there are things that are bigger than business and social media, and we felt like we needed to take a step back for a little bit and give respect to everyone who was affected.

But we’re slowly getting back into things, and I figured what better way to come back than with one of the more different details we’ve gotten to do.

This motorcycle definitely took some work.

We washed it, decontaminated it, clay barred it and polished everything back out, and honestly the transformation on this one surprised even me. There’s something really satisfying about taking something that has years of buildup and slowly bringing that shine and character back.

It’s also a reminder that Reno Auto Focus has never really just been about cleaning cars.

Sometimes it’s about bringing something back.

Feels good to be creating again. 🏍️

One of my favorite parts about building Reno Auto Focus is seeing how trust grows.

I had the opportunity to detail her daughters’ vehicles, and this time she trusted me with hers.

That means a lot. A referral from someone you care about is more than just another appointment. It’s someone putting their trust and their name behind the work you do.

These are the relationships I want Reno Auto Focus to be built on. Taking care of people, remembering their cars, and becoming someone a family knows they can count on.

40 years of Hot August Nights. 20 years of watching downtown Reno change.

When I was 16, I got my first job and without a car I had to take the bus. I spent a lot of time downtown waiting for the next bus, walking around and getting to know these streets without really realizing it.

Now I’m 36 and so much has changed. Buildings have disappeared, businesses have come and gone and parts of downtown can sometimes feel unnoticed or underappreciated.

But walking around Saturday night for Hot August Nights reminded me that buildings aren’t what give a city life. People do.

20 years ago I was walking these streets waiting for my bus. Saturday night I was walking them again with a camera in my hand and Reno Auto Focus behind me.

A lot has changed, but the people are still what keep Reno vibrant and moving.

Hot August Nights is officially rolling, and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than with this beautiful 1967 Chevrolet Impala.

Most people know Reno Auto Focus for modern daily drivers, family SUVs, and work trucks. But there’s another side of what we do that we don’t talk about nearly enough. We also love bringing classics back to life. Whether it’s years of dust, oxidation, neglected paint, or simply helping preserve a piece of automotive history, we’re not afraid to take on restoration and transformation details. Whether it rolled off the line in 1967 or 2026, every vehicle deserves the same patience, care, and respect.

To everyone out enjoying Hot August Nights tonight, have an incredible time! We’ll be out all week checking out the amazing cars, meeting fellow enthusiasts, and sharing more classics along the way. Stay tuned… there’s plenty more to come.

This 1957 Bel Air was way too good not to share. The black paint, all that chrome, the red interior, and just the amount of character these old cars have. Almost 70 years later and it still knows how to turn heads.

Hot August Nights is here and we want to welcome everyone coming into Reno this week! Whether you’re visiting from out of town or you’re local and look forward to this every year, we hope everyone has an amazing time, stays safe, and gets to enjoy some seriously incredible cars.

There are details that take two hours… and then there are the ones that take eight.

This SUV came to us covered in years of embedded dog hair. Jobs like this remind us that detailing isn’t about having one “magic” tool—it’s about knowing when to use each one. Over the years, we’ve spent countless hours through trial and error learning what works. Sometimes we’ll use our drill. Sometimes a rubber brush. Sometimes compressed air, a vacuum, or a combination of everything. Every vehicle is different, and every job teaches us something new.

At Reno Auto Focus, we don’t stop because it’s difficult. We keep working until the carpet is clean and the owner can enjoy their vehicle again. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter how many tools it took. What matters is that we got it done—done on purpose.

Not because we’re perfect. Not because we have the fanciest equipment. They come back because they know exactly what they’re going to get every time: someone who treats their vehicle with the same level of care, whether it’s spotless or hasn’t been cleaned in years. No judgment. No rushing. Just consistent attention to detail.

Over time, something interesting happens. We stop being “the detailer” and become part of their routine. We celebrate new cars, help prepare vehicles before they’re sold, clean up after family road trips, muddy adventures, and everything in between. Meet the Owner

Hey, I’m Tyler, the guy behind Reno Auto Focus.

A little about me, I spent most of my childhood in foster care with the same family who later adopted me. That experience gave me an early appreciation for stability, patience, and what it means to show up for others.

School was never easy for me. I learned differently and struggled to find confidence in environments that didn’t fit how my mind worked.

As I got older, that feeling followed me into different jobs. I worked hard but often felt out of place, like I hadn’t yet found where my strengths truly belonged.

Over time, I discovered something unexpected. Working with my hands, focusing on details, and restoring what had been worn or overlooked gave me clarity and purpose I hadn’t felt before.

Reno Auto Focus grew from that discovery. Today, every vehicle is treated with care, respect, and intention because helping people feel reset and ready to move forward is what drives me.
