One hailstorm. One cracked solar panel.

There’s no repairing this kind of damage, so we replaced the whole panel.
If your rig was parked outside during a storm, check your roof before your next trip.

Two trailers in the shop right now. Both with front-end separation.

Neil, Tyeler, and Will are working through the repairs this week. FES is one of the most common structural problems we see, and it shows up on newer trailers as often as older ones.

The factory setup uses four small aluminum brackets with one pop rivet each to hold the front end to the frame. Over time and miles, that’s not enough. We replace it with custom HeimBuilt brackets built to handle highway stress.

Swipe for the warning signs to look for on your own rig.

Have you checked your front end lately? Tell us below.

🧭 Steve and Julie’s Northwoods Airstream Journey (slightly delayed...August & September were busy)

From Marquette, we headed east to the Straits and set up at Mackinaw Camp Inn. Days were spent exploring Mackinac Island and Mackinaw City before turning south along Lake Michigan to Timberline RV Campground and Sleeping Bear Dunes.

On the way to our last stop at Poncho’s Pond RV Park, we took a quick detour to see a giant sequoia — yes, in Michigan. It’s the largest one east of the Rockies.

Then it was time to head home. Instead of fighting Chicago traffic, we loaded the Airstream onto the SS Badger and cut straight across Lake Michigan. Best way to end a trip. 🌲

Remember when we asked what was going on here? Here’s the answer.

The rear dinette in Walter’s 2022 Flying Cloud is gone. In its place: two club chairs and a custom white oak table.
The table’s wings flip up for dinner or fold down to make it an end table. The base raises, lowers, or lifts out completely. And because the chairs are free-floating, they spin around to face out the open rear hatch.
Is this what you guessed? Tell us below.

If there’s a layout in your Airstream that isn’t working for you, it can be changed.

We know this topic is riveting. It's time for name that rivet.

Buck rivets. Olympic rivets. Clecos. Three types, three very different jobs inside every Airstream.

What are we installing here, and why? If you know your rivets, drop a comment.

Answer coming tomorrow. 👇

Do you haul with water or without?
Every gallon is 8.3 lbs. Most Airstream fresh tanks hold 30-40 gallons. That's up to 330 lbs of extra tow weight affecting your fuel economy, brakes, and bearings.

There's no wrong answer; it depends on where you're going and how you camp.
But we want to know how you do it. 👇🏼

Diesel's over $6 a gallon.
Here are 4 things quietly making it worse.

• Brakes that drag
• Worn bearings, misaligned axles, and low tires
• Extra weight (hello, full water tanks)
• Hauling and fueling a portable gas generator

Swipe for what to watch for and what we can fix.
