I had to make a run to Evolution Powersports today, when I got up there I parked next to their stroker motor Can Am MavR. With their Prototype transmission. After I got inside I was asked if I wanted to get in on some R&D and ride in it. Now I have looked at MavR’s before, but never rode in one so of course I had to take them up on it. After going to the helmet shelf and finding one that fit we were out the door. As we drove around the hay field/ test track, warming it up I noticed how smooth the ride was. The transmission shifted smoothly I was just soaking it in. Then Jake said something that had me wondering if I had understood it correctly. 500 wheel HP. To put it into perspective Topgun is around 400 Whp….My hands started to get clammy. Then I heard “ok are you ready we are warmed up” and bam, I was slammed back into the seat. We approached a rise in the field, I couldn’t see the other side, luckily I was in good hands and we became weightless for much longer than I ever have and I have caught air quite a bit. I remember thinking this is going to hurt, nope like we were on a cloud. We came to a corner, the mav R downshifted a couple gears still feeling way faster than I would go into it with my X3’s nothing, no body roll just nice flat thru the corner. Over another knoll and a ditch, the G’s getting set back in the seat far out number the G’s in the bottom of the seat through that ditch. Now I am an adrenaline j***y when it comes to speed, but I may have OD today. The fastest I have had Topgun on a smooth blacktop closed course is 100 and that was scary. Today we had to be close,at will, instantly! It was so fun, scary, exhilarating,terrifying. You know how peeople say I almost Sh #* my pants? Well I didn’t, but my butt muscles were sore from squeezing hard enough to turn coal into diamonds. All I can say is if I had one of those machines, I’d be putting this setup in. It is insane! Unbelievable! My hands were shaking when we got done, I drag race a pretty fast machine speed isn’t supposed to scare me. Today it made me pray!😁🙏 To the men and women at Evo, job well done as always!! To Jake Mueller thanks for being such a good pilot! 500 freaking wheel hp. My brain still hasn’t wrapped around what I experienced there! Bravo!!
