🇩🇪 This award winning 1981 Mercedes-Benz 500SL “stopped” by the shop for some fresh brake pads, but turned into a total brake system refresh after finding a siezed caliper and the master cylinder failing. New front calipers & a master cylinder were sourced and fitted along with all new brake hoses & pads then the system flushed and bled with fresh Dot 3 fluid. While here the engine oil and filter was also changed and upgraded to Valvoline VR1 oil. Thanks to Daniel Ryan for bringing this 500SL to the shop! It is such a great example of what the R107 chassis should be! 🏆 🥨

🇮🇹 This 1973 Alfa Romeo Giulia Super 1.3 (2.0🏁) made it’s way back to Mississippi recently and the new owners wanted to give it a good inspection and make any needed repairs. This car is in excellent shape, but did have a few needs. The brake calipers were rebuilt, the brake hose and rotors were replaced along with new wheel seals and repacking the bearings (note the heavy string that had wrapped up inside of one hub at some point in time.) The clutch slave cylinder and hose were also replaced and both systems bled with fresh Dot 3 fluid. Transmission and rear axle fluid was drained and refilled with Spirax 80W-90. An engine guard was fitted to protect against our great Mississippi roads too! The solid state voltage regulator was melting so it was replaced with a good ol contact style regulator. The Pertronix ignition module had also failed and was replaced with a new unit along with a few other odds and ends while in the shop. Thanks to Andy & Bonnie Hemsley Menapace for trusting me with this family jewel and thanks to Mike Hemsley for their hospitality when we picked the car up in Chattanooga, TN a few months back. 🍝🍀

🇯🇵What started as just an axle reseal for this Toyota FJ40 turned into a full rebuild for both front and rear axles, along with an upgrade to disc brakes, new springs & shocks and a winch bumper. The new taillights were wired as well. This FJ40 left with a fully functioning 4WD system ready to hit some trails! 💪🏻🏞️

🇸🇪 This 1992 Saab 900S lost function of its clutch and sat at another shop for awhile before finding its way here. Did you know that the clutch is in front of the engine? After replacing all components in the clutch hydraulic system and swapping the busted fog lights for some period correct yellow Bosch lights, this 90’s icon was ready to take flight! ✈️

🇬🇧 This 1994 Land Rover Defender Tdi came in with coolant disappearing through the exhaust. Suspecting at least a bad head gasket, the cylinder head and necessary components were removed and inspected for damage. A crack was found at #4 exhaust valve and a new cylinder head sourced for replacement. While apart all coolant hoses were replaced along with intercooler and intake hoses. Once all was back together and running smooth, the A/C system was charged and a bad ground repaired on the blower motor. Thanks to Craig Smith for the opportunity to put his Land Rover back on the road, the Defender Tdi is now ready for a Mississippi Safari! 🦘🐊🦌🏁

This Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce came in last year with clutch issues and hard starting/ rough idle. After inspection, numerous other problems were discovered and a plan put in place to correct them. The clutch & brake hydraulics were repaired along with new rubber hoses. The fuel & air systems also got a complete refresh along with a tune up and new engine/ trans mounts. The suspension got treated with new shock absorbers at all four corners. Once the mechanicals were sorted, we addressed some body and cosmetic issues replacing the vent window frames and repairing the electric window system components. Lastly the paint was corrected from a dulled chalky state to a brilliant shiny red that would make a Ferrari jealous, lol!
