Ever seen this much mud packed inside a vehicle’s frame? 😳

Years of accumulated dirt and debris can hide where you can’t see it, trapping moisture and increasing the risk of corrosion.

This one took hours of flushing and removing compacted mud to get things flowing clean again.

What do you think caused this buildup? A flood, some serious off-roading, or years of accumulated debris? Let’s hear your thoughts in the comments! 👇

One thing is certain: INSPECTIONS MATTER. What you can’t see underneath your vehicle could be just as important as what you can see on the outside.

At Northern Auto Detail, we’re here to educate, inspect, and help you make informed decisions about protecting your investment. No scare tactics, just real vehicles, real conditions, and real results.

In Salt Country, protection is survival. 🛡️

New doesn’t mean protected.

This isn’t meant to create fear or make anyone worry about their vehicle. It’s simply an example of why inspections matter, even on newer vehicles.

Corrosion can begin sooner than many people realize, and much of it can happen where you can’t see it from the outside.

The important thing is catching it early, understanding what you’re looking at, and making an informed decision about what if anything, your vehicle actually needs.

New doesn’t mean protected.
Rust doesn’t wait.
Inspect first.

Right now, this is still manageable.

Rust gets expensive very quickly. Once corrosion begins, the damaged surface helps retain moisture and creates conditions that allow corrosion to continue and spread.

Our corrosion protection products pe*****te the metal and help significantly slow the progression of corrosion. They don’t reverse existing damage or simply cover it up.

That’s why addressing corrosion sooner rather than later can make a significant difference in your vehicle’s longevity and help retain its value.

If you plan to keep your vehicle on the road longer, an inspection can help identify corrosion while it’s still manageable.

Rust doesn’t wait. Rust stops here.

No salt. No snow. Doesn’t mean no corrosion.

This is why inspections matter more than you think. Rust doesn’t wait for winter and by the time you can see it, the process has already been underway.

We don’t just cover up rust. We address the conditions that allow corrosion to continue and protect the metal from further exposure.

Rust doesn’t wait. Neither should you.

🎃 A little time away from the shop for some family time!

My daughter managed to find one of the biggest pumpkins in the patch, and we had a great time making our way through the corn maze. Of course, we couldn’t leave without spending some time petting the horses, goats, and all the other animals. 🐴🐐

Sometimes it’s nice to slow down, step away from work, and just enjoy a beautiful fall day with my girls. ❤️

Hope everyone is enjoying the season!

Myth Rusters Corrosion Lab outdoor exposure test, two bare metal samples, same outdoor exposure, different seasons. Spring, April, temperatures ranged from the 30s to the 50s. Fall, September, temperatures ranged from the 40s to the upper 80s. The difference so far is hard to ignore. Additional seasonal testing is underway. No salt. No snow. So why is there rust? Temperature? Moisture? Something else? This video shows the bare metal comparison. Protected versus unprotected results are being documented separately. When I moved to the Upper Peninsula, I brought my vehicle from the Southwest. Before I even made it through my first winter, I was already seeing corrosion. That experience is part of what led me to start asking questions about what actually causes corrosion here. The goal isn’t to assume we already know the answer. It’s to test it, document it, and see what the evidence shows. What do you think is causing the difference?

New doesn’t mean protected.

Over the past several months, we’ve documented early corrosion on multiple newer, low-mileage vehicles, often long before the owner would expect to see it.

This isn’t about fear. It’s about knowing what’s happening underneath while there’s still time to make an informed decision.

The evidence is there. What you do with it is up to you.

In Salt Country, rust is inevitable. Protection is optional.

“It has an aluminum body, so it doesn’t need rust protection.”

We hear that one a lot.

This truck is only 3 years old with relatively low miles, and look what’s already happening underneath.

The aluminum body isn’t the problem.

The steel frame, axle, suspension, hardware and other components underneath are still exposed to corrosion.

Fortunately, this owner didn’t wait for the corrosion to become a major problem. Protection was applied before it could get out of control.

Your truck can look brand new from the outside while corrosion is quietly getting started underneath.

Don’t wait until rust becomes obvious.

👉 Have a newer truck? Send us a message and let’s see what’s happening underneath yours.

Still applying ceramic by hand?

We’ve been professionally applying ceramic coatings for 15+ years, and we’ve developed our process around one thing: consistent, controlled coverage.

Our coatings are spray-applied in a controlled environment, with proper temperature, industrial dehumidification, and ventilation systems.

Why spray?

Because atomization allows for consistent coverage and access to areas that can be difficult or impossible to reach effectively by hand.

And if you’re a detailing shop looking to improve your ceramic application process, we do offer professional training for select shops and crews.

We don’t train everyone. We look for businesses that share our commitment to quality, professionalism, and doing things the right way.

Complete Vehicle Preservation.
