What Makes It Legendary | Episode 2

This 1970 Mustang Boss 302 is a four-speed street warrior with a family story worth preserving. A cherished heirloom, it arrived at The Legendary Garage ready for us to bring it back to life.

From the unmistakable shaker scoop to the Boss 302 stripes, this Mustang has a presence that hasn’t faded with time. Now, we get to help keep its story going.

Those were Travis’s words when we discovered his 1970 Plymouth Superbird needed much more work than any of us expected.

What started as a request to finish the car turned into a much bigger project—and a year later, we stood alongside Travis and his Superbird on the showfield at Hershey Region AACA Eastern Fall Meet.

Our team caught up with him to reflect on that journey, from a difficult phone call to a moment we could all be proud of.
Travis, thank you for trusting The Legendary Garage to make it right. Seeing you and your car at Hershey made all that work worth it.

0–60 in 9 seconds before. Now? Just 4. 🔥
 
This split-bumper Camaro came to us needing a serious wake-up call. A 427 small-block making right at 600 horsepower, a six-speed transmission, and a completely upgraded drivetrain delivered exactly that.
 
With a Ford 9-inch rear end, CalTrac rear suspension, and an upgraded driveshaft backing it up, we also sorted out sticking brakes and a faulty fuel sending unit to finish the transformation.
 
This is what we love at The Legendary Garage: keeping the character of a classic while making it a car you can’t wait to drive.

The Road to SEMA | Episode 3 🛠️

Taken apart to come back better. Our F-150 couldn’t be much further apart, but big changes are happening here at The Legendary Garage!

The paint work is complete, and the body shop is now wet sanding and buffing. Meanwhile, Jack is getting ready to tackle the suspension, wheels, tires, and brakes, with the interior coming together behind the scenes.

By next week, this truck should start looking like an F-150 again—with a much more aggressive stance. 👀

Welcome to our new weekly series, where we take a closer look at the cars, the history, and the details behind what makes them legendary.

We’re kicking things off with this barn-find 1970 Plymouth AAR ’Cuda, powered by a 340 Six Barrel and backed by an automatic transmission. With a 1970 Boss 302 nearby, we’re taking you back to an era of fierce factory rivalries, racing heritage, and American muscle.

A lot goes into bringing a classic back to life.🔧

What looked like a few bubbles in the paint turned into a much bigger job once we started taking it apart. Hidden rust and previous repairs led us to full quarter-panel replacements, floor-pan work, and a new trunk floor.

Before the quarter panels went back on, we sprayed the inner structure and backs of the panels in Petty Blue, reaching the hidden areas that would be difficult to access after assembly.

Now, the bodywork and paint preparation continue as we get this Mopar one step closer to its next chapter.

Still plenty to do, but a long way from where we started. Who’s ready to see it all in Petty Blue? 👇
