Tesla Model S Brake Diagnostics: Metal-to-Metal Grinding & Drive Unit Issues.

We diagnose a grinding noise on a customer’s vehicle and discover the rear brakes are metal-to-metal due to a completely missing inner pad, while the outer pad is at minimum spec. We also find that the rear wheels are too wide for the Model S setup, causing rubbing on the fender liner. Additionally, we identify a popped-out sensor on the rear drive unit with coolant intrusion.

Rear Drive Unit Replacement and Inverter
Repair at EV’s Republic

We walk you through a rear drive unit repair at EV’s Republic. We removed the rear brakes, rear suspension, and dropped the rear subframe to access and replace a faulty rear drive unit. We discovered that the inverter was the main issue and are replacing it as part of this comprehensive repair. After completion, we’ll perform a quality control test drive before contacting the customer for pickup.

Tesla Model S High Voltage Battery Upgrade: 60kWh to 90kWh

We’re performing a high voltage battery upgrade on a white Tesla Model S. The customer came to us with charging issues, and after extensive electronic testing, we determined the car needed a battery replacement. We were able to offer them an upgrade option, and they’re now upgrading from a 60kWh to a 90kWh battery. This is one of our specialties at EV’s Republic.
