ππΊπ» Bringing back some memories!! Keeping the sign tradition going! 3 generations built on honesty, trust, and good work! β€οΈ
Terry Peoples of the Farmerβs Market Phillips 66 gas station is seen touching up the sign in front of the business at 1325 Hodges Street, 21 June 1983.
Now Peopleβs Tire and Auto, the business was founded by Terryβs father Darrell Peoples in 1964. In the late 1970s when Terry began working for the family business, the hand-painted sign went up one day to taunt a NY Yankeeβs-hating acquaintance.
A tradition was born that day and the spray-painted sign has continuously solicited honks for various causes and sports teams for well over four decades.
