Triangle Chapter of the AACA - Wake County NC Collecting, Restoring, Showing and Driving Antique Automobiles and Motorcycles. Support our sponsors- see albums in photos. Our membership is 98 families strong.

The Triangle Chapter of the Antique Automobile Club of America is one of the largest AACA chapters in North Carolina. The club celebrates and promotes the preservation of automobiles 25 years and older. Information is shared through monthly dinner meetings and programs, newsletters and electronic media. Members participate in a variety of activities, including car shows, tours, drive-ins, car disp

lays and more. We also have a model T that we use at events to Take-A-Part and put back together and drive in a very fast timed setting.

We appreciate the invite from Habitat for Humanity! This Saturday at the Kohl's shopping center in Southern Pines - all cars are welcome, no registration required, join the cruise in car show taking place.

The market hosts many vendors and will have music by Locals Only DJ spinning the oldies, and be sure to visit Moore County Humane Society pulls in with their pet adoption trailer.

The Lake Allatoona Region invites you to attend the AACA Winter Nationals on the beautiful new campus of Georgia Highlands College in Cartersville, GA. The Region has put together a great event and are excited to show you around Cartersville Museum City. Our next meeting is Sunday, February 22nd, 2:00 to 5:00 pm, at The Local (1235 Huricane Alley Way, Raleigh).

Mike Petersen's program will take us around America using 1955 period post cards, radio broadcasts, music and commercials.

We will also present this year's event schedule, and discuss several Chapter Road Tour opportunities and our Chili Cook-off on March 22nd.

Since our January meeting was canceled because of the bad weather, I am looking forward to seeing everyone Sunday.

The 1993 Car of the Year Award as decided by 58 automotive journalists from 19 countries was presented to the Nissan Micra on this day in 1993. The Micra, a European market model, won the contest which is based on strict criteria regarding general design, comfort, safety, economy, handling, general road worthiness, performance, functionality, driver satisfaction and price.

The NIssan MIcra won the Car of the Year Award on February 1, 1993. This was the first time a Japanese badged car won the honor.
