-Minimum 5+ years experience in OTR trucks no exceptions
-Full list of hand tools and willing to supply any future tools/equipment needed
-Clean driving record
-Class B CDL a plus
-Must be able to complete jobs in timely manner
-Occasional work on weekends
-Communicate with customer/management before, during and after repairs
-Adapt and work on all types of engines and equipment
-Operate and inspect trucks, cranes, dozers, and other heavy equipment for proper performance.
-Experience with modern (2018+) diesel engines such as Paccar, Cummins and Maxxforce
-Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.
-Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
-Perform visual inspections to indicate minor/major repair and maintenance
-Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.
-Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
-Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts.
-Dismantle and reassemble machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency using hoists and hand tools.
-Adjust, maintain, and repair or replace subassemblies, such as transmissions and crawler heads, using hand tools, jacks, and cranes.
-Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy-duty vehicles.
-Cleaning and servicing of machine attachments like winches, blades, and side booms.
-Fit bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
-Assemble gear systems, and align frames and gears.
-Diagnose wiring harness issues cause by excessive wear, misuse or contaminants and then repair problem areas
-Performing major repair work when necessary.
-Weld (MIG, Arc) or solder broken parts and structural members, using electric or gas welders and soldering tools.
-Fabricate needed parts or items from sheet metaled stick steel
-Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management.
-Complete shop paperwork
Jobs included:
-Truck engines, transmissions, front and rear engine covers, turbochargers, injectors, cylinder heads, air compressors, PTOs and hydraulic pumps/valves, A/C systems, king pins exhaust manifolds, differentials, etc.
-Truck body corner caps, nose radius, box patches, swing and roll up doors, wood and metal flooring, lift gates, box interior/exterior walls, rails, scuff liner, E-track, hydraulic systems, wiring, lighting, 5th wheels, etc.
-Trailer landing gear, mudflap/hangers, lighting, wiring and wiring harnesses, brakes, s-cams and bushings, slack adjusters, wheel seals, ABS components, wheel speed sensors, valves, air lines, hydraulic systems, etc.
-Equipment cylinders, pumps, valves, engines, transmissions, water pumps, thermostats, wiring and wire harnesses, hoses, sensors, A/C systems, cutting edges, teeth, hardfacing, buckets, idlers, sprockets, etc.
This is a 1099 commission position per flag rate or boot time.
