It's never too early to get your bike ready for the spring and summer riding seasons. Shops are usually less crowded, which allows you to schedule service more effectively. This is significant since the pandemic bike boom is still having an influence on bike sales and service. Furthermore, performing maintenance now will allow you to obtain components and address any significant issues before the weather warms. And if you've been riding all winter, your bike is undoubtedly in need of some TLC after a lot of time spent in the elements. This list does not apply to every type of bike, but there are issues to be aware of.
You can bring your bike in for a free inspection, and we'll look for any issues.
Spring is a great time to clean and tune up your bike, paying particular attention to the frame, drivetrain, and wheels.
We'll inspect the drivetrain for signs of wear or lubrication.
We have the equipment to inspect your chain for wear. Spring is the optimum time to check your bike's chainring and cassette teeth for bent or broken teeth, as well as indicators of heavy use, such as pointed tips or a shark-fin shape on chainring teeth, which indicate that it's time to replace them.
We look for signs of tire wear.
Significant cuts or places on the sidewall where threads from the nylon belt show through the rubber casing are visible concerns. However, look for indicators of excessive tread wear. I am here Monday - Friday 10 am - 3 pm, the Same location.
