Chipman & Taylor Parts Manager Lyle Libey figures he's got the best department in the dealership. He runs it with a simple philosophy.
"I just like to do what I would like to have done to me," Lyle said. "I call people back. I finish the job. I do what I'm asked."
Lyle just celebrated 25 years at Chipman. He's been the manager since 2014. And, if he has his way, he'll retire from here in nine more years.
"It is just a really, really good fit," Lyle said. "A big reason that I have stayed here is Fran, the owner. He's just a good guy. I think it speaks volumes that I stayed because of him. He's always treated me well. Plus, I've always liked our clientele. I think we are the best dealership in town."
He works to keep the mood light and relishes the banter with clients.
"If you treat them right and do a good job, you can get a return customer. Having that as an accomplishment is good," he said.
Lyle's no stranger to corporate business. He worked for a national parts retailer for ten years. But he's found a niche at Chipman and built a department he's proud of.
"I got a good crew," Lyle said. "Our history is pretty deep here. We go back a long way with lots of families. I love that part. I really appreciate the older generation that worked hard to achieve something, and that's what I feel I'm trying to do."
Thank you for all you do, Lyle. We're grateful not only to work with you but also to watch the difference you make in our customers' lives.
