📌 SCRS Quick Tip: The Power of Keeping A To-Do List

When everything feels urgent, how do you know what actually comes first?

In this conversation, Kris and Michael discuss a simple approach for managing the constant flow of priorities, requests, and unexpected issues in a collision repair shop.

Michael explains how an “urgent and important” notepad can help leaders separate what needs attention today from what can wait, while also creating a place to capture safety concerns, maintenance needs, and requests from team members.

They also discuss the discipline of carrying the list throughout the day, reviewing and rewriting it at the end of each day, and why putting pen to paper can help you better process and retain information.

Watch now to learn how a simple system can help you stay organized, support your team, and leave work with a clearer mind.

What's your go-to method for keeping track of everything that needs your attention?

📌 SCRS Quick Tip: Back to the Basics

In this conversation, Justin, Barry, and Michael reflect on the mentors, experiences, and lessons that shaped their approach to collision repair and customer service.

At the heart of the conversation is a simple principle: the person bringing you their vehicle has experienced a stressful event. The shop's job isn't just to repair the vehicle. It's to help make a difficult experience better.

What lesson has changed the way you approach your customers?

Estimating Tip – CCCONE Web – Radiator Supports & Mechanical Components

Starting with 2027 new model year vehicles, MOTOR has updated its labor guide for Radiator Supports: mechanical component R&I/R&R is no longer included in radiator support replacement labor. CCC users must add all attached items—such as radiators, condensers, and cooling fans + any other related components attached to the radiator support—as separate line operations.

CCC users should always reference labor notes for component R&I and R&R found under the H-Notes in CCC. “LABOR: Time is after all necessary bolted-on parts are removed.”

📌 SCRS Quick Tip: Who Determines A Total Loss?

In this conversation, Michael is joined by Sean Preston, Managing Attorney with Coverall Law, to discuss how insurers determine whether a vehicle is a total loss and what consumers should know when they disagree with that decision.

Sean explains how repair costs and actual cash value factor into the decision, why requirements can vary by state, and what consumers can do when they question the numbers. From requesting documentation and reviewing the valuation to providing supporting information and understanding potential appraisal or legal options, asking the right questions matters.

Have you ever questioned a total-loss valuation? Share your experience in the comments.
