🏡💗🐾 CREAMSICLE HAS FINALLY FOUND HIS FUREVER HOME! 🐾💗🏡
Sometimes, the best things in life are worth waiting for. And for our sweet Creamsicle, that wait has been OVER A YEAR! 🧡
Creamsicle 🐈 has been with Percy’s Angelic Cat Rescue patiently waiting for someone to see past three little letters: FIV+.
Sadly, cats who test positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) are often overlooked simply because people do not understand what that diagnosis means.
📚 LET’S TALK ABOUT FIV!
🐱 FIV is NOT a death sentence! Many FIV+ cats live long, happy, healthy lives with proper care.
🐱 FIV is NOT contagious to humans or dogs! It is a virus specific to cats.
🐱 FIV+ cats CAN live with FIV-negative cats! FIV is primarily transmitted through deep bite wounds, not through sharing food bowls, litter boxes, grooming, or cuddling. Cats who get along peacefully can often live together safely.
🐱 FIV+ cats deserve loving homes, too! They need the same things every other cat needs: nutritious food, routine veterinary care, a safe indoor environment, and LOTS of love!
Unfortunately, the stigma surrounding FIV means that wonderful cats like Creamsicle can spend months or even YEARS waiting for adoption.
And that is exactly why we NEVER gave up on him. 💗
Yesterday, Creamsicle finally began his happily ever after! 🏡🐈
We are beyond grateful to his new family for opening their hearts and home to this handsome orange boy. They saw Creamsicle for WHO he is, not simply his medical diagnosis.
PLEASE, when considering adoption, do not automatically overlook an FIV+ cat. Educate yourself, ask questions, and give these deserving animals a chance.
A positive test does not mean a cat has less love to give. It does not mean that cat is less deserving of a family.
Sometimes, the cat who has waited the longest has the MOST love to give. 🥹
