Have a new cell phone. Number is still the same. Now just need to find out how to use it. I think that I am up and running. Will try to check and answer any messages that were left on the old system. New phones are so much fun. Jim

Mod-4 racers, we are finally getting our FOG Transmission Program updated. We have many cores, large selection of what is left of OEM Ford parts and a supply of rebuilt transmissions in stock. All ratio, standard or polished gear sets. Getting more parts in daily to repair your broken transmissions, still not great but better than it has been. Our new in-house larger tumbler allows us to do transmission and rear end gear polishing in a timely manner buy not having to ship the gear sets out and back in to be done. Should have it all up and running in a week or so.
Some info for those of you that are always checking transmission tags for gear ratios. This year our checking ratios with our gear ratio test we have found that about 1/3 of all the transmissions that we checked the tag was wrong on the ratio of the transmission. Most that we checked were fresh take outs from yards that had not been worked on so my belief is that ford send out some transmissions that were not what they thought. Always check.

Easter Update:
Still snowing and very busy in the shop. As we get closer to racing I will not be answering the shop phone during the day. If you call leave a message and a number and I will get back to you. Will be checking the voice mail at noon and 5:00. If you leave a message please let me know the best time to call or be sure that the number that you leave has a voice mail that is set up and that your mail box is not full. Schedule at this point is that I have six direct drive Powerglides to get done that are all apart, cleaned up and the machine work do. Would like to have them all done this week. I will call you when I get yours done. Does not help to call twice a day to see if yours is done. From there it is on to FOG Mod-4 transmissions. I think that I have 2- 2.14 and 7- 1.97 and 1 1.81 Polished done. Have 6- 1.97 apart, cleaned and checked over that need to be put back together. Have a truck coming up from down south next weekend that will have 5-1.97 and at least 1-1.81 or more on it. We are polishing a couple loads of gears so some more of these transmissions will have polished gears. From there we go to Bert, Brinns and Falcons. I will be selling 4 Berts, Brinns, Falcons, and Jericos that I have rebuilt but have been setting so I am going to check them over and than I have 5 more broken that I will be rebuilding to sell. From there I have a couple of gear sets to do. We have 8” and 9” Polished or unpolished 8” and Polished and or light weight 9” gear set in stock . Have 14 sets of gears done on the shelf so may have the set that you need done or have 150 sets of ring and pinions so can build for you. Also have 5 Saginaw Three Speeds done set up for long yoke, some light weight gears. Did three KSE Pumps last week so remember we have a good supply of KSE parts and can do yours for you.
This does not mean that we that we are not taking in any more work. We are working 7 days a week to get everyone racing. If we can be of any help, please call us so that we can get you on the schedule.
Have a great Easter.
Thanks
Jim

It’s that time of year with rule changes and combination changes that many are looking at selling and buying used rear end gear sets. This works well for both, the ones that are selling can get rid of gears that they do not need and the ones that are buying can get good used gear sets for less than the cost of new ones. A win for both sides. If you are selling or buying take a small pen light and look at the pinion gear. Look for chips out of it, cracks, wear, and or discoloration of the gear. If you are selling ,you do not want to sell a friend a bad set of gears and if you are buying you do not want to spend your hard earned money on a gear set that is bad and you can not use. The pinion gear gets about 6 to 1 of the work on the ring gear. Look hard at the pinion gears and still look at the ring gear.
As always if you can not find used and need new or need a gear set repaired we are here to help you out. Thanks Jim

Are you ready? Was just notified by WISSOTA that they have changed the Street Stock Transmissions Rule again. Have been told that they are going with the open transmission rule that they were going to go to in 2027 to start in 2026.Have not got it in print yet but we had it in print that the direct drive Powerglides was the rule. At this point I have stopped working on any Street Stock Transmissions until this gets cleared up. Glad I spent all the money to be sure we would have parts for the Racers. And that the racers all dropped their transmissions off or paid money to ship them to me. For now, If I have not started on your transmission I will hold off on it until you let me know what you want me to do. If I have your transmission done but not shipped yet I will call you and find out what you want done. The ones that are done and have been shipped we will figure out what to do next.
Any more questions, please let me know.
Thanks
Jim

As you would think, very busy in the shop. Working hard to get yours or your buddy’s transmission done. If you call and I do not answer, please leave a message and I will get back to you. This time of the year I do not drop what I am doing to get to the phone. If you leave a message, I will get back to you. If there is a best time to call leave that on the message. You can also leave me a Face book Message. Thanks
Hope everyone had a good Christmas. Have a fun and safe New Years Eve. Remember do not drink and drive. I have too many friends in EMS and Fire that would like to be able to sleep in rather than having to deal with your accident.

Time for an update: This week WISSOTA drivers received an e-mail with the rule changes for next year. Phone started to ring off the hook on Thursday. Would have been nice if WISSOTA would also have messaged us that have to work with these rules. So I am going on info that I got mostly from racers and some from a WISSOTA tech official. From what I know Streeters this year will be able to run with or without a converter. Next year is another story but I am only working on this year at this time. With the removal of the torque converter, you are removing 28 lbs of rotating weight. From the information when we converted the mid-mods years ago, I do not remember that there was a gear change needed but I do not have a lot of data on that yet. For our customers I will be doing the same as we did with the mid-mod. If you bring your trans to be freshened over the winter I will do the conversion over to direct drive at no extra cost. The only extra cost will be the drive tube. At this time, they run about 225 but I am going to see if I can get a better deal on them. You need to know if you have a 1- or 2-piece rear seal for the drive. Also, I am going to see if there is anything we can do to help get rid of the used converters. Hope to get you some money for them. This is enough info for today. Just wanted to let you know what I know and what we are doing. Will put out more info when I have any. Also have our manual that most of you have that gives you info on how the direct drive works. If you do not have a copy let me know and I will try to get one to you. As always if I can do anything for you or answer any questions message or call me. If you call leave a message and I will get back to you but the phone is a little busy. Thanks Jim

Any one looking for a winter driver? Have a 2011 Mercury Mariner All Wheel Drive that I bought when I could not find another Explorer. Now I have two Explorers and no need for the Mariner. Have not driven it for about 6 months. Would like to get it out of my yard before the snow flies. Looks good, runs and drive good, tires near new. Would like to get 1000 for it or would take transmissions and rear ends in on trade.
Thanks
Jim
