Here at Action, we DO NOT EVER use part vendors that have not been vetted through our vetting process. (Yes we thoroughly vet and re-vet our suppliers)
Buyers beware: For those who drive Dodge Ram pickup trucks with 47RE transmissions.
These transmissions have massive amounts of documentation and history of failure. Especially if used for towing.
Here's this customers transmission situation... This transmission was purchased from a company that the customer requested. He said it was due to cost. Apprehensively, we agreed but only because the customer has been loyal for over 15+ years.
Once the transmission was received, we read over all the paperwork. Come to find out, the company requires all coolers and lines be replaced (not flushed). Only after we received the transmission did we find out that those parts needed replaced (not flushed) or the warranties would be voided. Warranties that cost almost $700 extra. The requirex replacement of the extra parts is an added cost to the job that was not discussed at the time of purchase with either us, nor the owner. A shock to both of us.
In addition, we find out, the transmission was "Dropshipped". Meaning that they never had the transmission, nor rebuilt the transmission in house. They ordered it from powertorque and shipped it to us.
The fact is, we would NEVER recommend a powertorque transmission due to multiple failures we have seen over the 20 years in business. As well as the lack of accountability on the manufacturer with warranties and paying to replace problem parts.
After it's all said and done, the customer will pay more than they would have if they would have approved the transmission we recommended. Additionally, he would have had the truck back in their garage by now.
