🔧 HEAR A CLUNK? FEEL A VIBRATION? YOUR DRIVETRAIN MAY BE TRYING TO TELL YOU SOMETHING! 🚗

That driveshaft underneath your vehicle does some serious work transferring power from the transmission to the wheels. But when carrier bearings or U-joints start wearing out, things can get ugly if you ignore the warning signs.

Here’s what to watch for:

⚠️ Clunking or banging when shifting into gear, accelerating, or letting off the gas.

⚠️ Vibrations at certain speeds that get worse as you drive.

⚠️ Squeaking or chirping from underneath the vehicle, especially at low speeds.

⚠️ Excessive driveshaft movement caused by worn U-joints or a failing carrier bearing.

⚠️ Drivetrain damage if a worn component is left unchecked. A failed U-joint can damage surrounding parts, and in severe cases, a driveshaft failure can leave you stranded or create a serious safety hazard.

Your carrier bearing supports the driveshaft, while U-joints allow it to move with the suspension and drivetrain. Both are small components that play a BIG role in keeping your vehicle running smoothly.

🥶🔋 COLD WEATHER IS TOUGH ON YOUR BATTERY!

When the temperatures drop here in Texoma, your vehicle’s battery has to work harder to get your engine started. And if your battery is already getting weak, that first cold morning might be when it finally gives up!

Here’s what’s happening under the hood:

🔧 Slower chemical reactions: Cold temperatures slow the electrochemical reactions inside your battery, reducing its ability to deliver power.

🔧 Less available power: At 0°F, a typical lead-acid battery can deliver only about 50% of its rated starting power compared with warmer conditions.

🔧 Your engine needs more power: Cold oil gets thicker, increasing the resistance your starter has to overcome to turn the engine.

🔧 Short trips can make things worse: Your battery needs time to recharge after starting. Frequent short drives, especially with the heater, defroster, and lights running, may leave it undercharged.

Don’t wait until you’re stuck in the driveway or the parking lot! If your engine is cranking slowly, your lights are dimming, or you’ve needed a jump-start recently, let us test your battery and charging system before the next cold snap.
