Dire Wolf pairs Protector’s legendary build quality with brand-new 2025 twin Yamaha 350 outboards, pushing her to 58 mph. There’s something about a Hinckley

Few sailboats have earned the kind of devotion the Bermuda 40 has. Designed by Bill Tripp Jr. and built by Hinckley from 1960 to 1991, she paired offshore ability with a bronze centerboard that opened up harbors deeper boats could only admire from outside: 9'3" with the board down, just 4'9" with it up. Owners kept them for decades, and more than 60 years after hull #1 was built, a B-40 still turns heads on any mooring field in New England.

MOONLIGHT is among the very best of them. Her Flag Blue Awlgrip hull with gold leaf cove, gloss-varnished Honduras mahogany interior, and teak decks show the craftsmanship Hinckley is known for. Upgrades since 2017 include a 2017 Yanmar 45 HP, a complete 2018 Garmin electronics package with radar and AIS, a redone galley and head, and electric in-mast furling that makes her easy to sail shorthanded.

Fontaine Design Group’s vision, Lyman-Morse Boatbuilding build quality and Dana Robes’ finish work: SARAH JANE brings together three names we’ve long admired, and the result is one of the most elegant cruising yachts we’ve had the pleasure to share.

Her elegance begins with how she sails. Her powerful sail plan, deep centerboard and 27,000 lbs of internal ballast give her a smooth, sea-kindly motion and confident performance in all conditions. With the board up she draws under 6', which lets her reach anchorages most bluewater yachts can’t.

Below decks, the craftsmen at Dana Robes gave her a refined, classic finish. Traditional raised-panel mahogany, solid mahogany moldings and teak-and-holly soles create a warm interior. The enclosed pilothouse offers comfortable dining with views all around, and three cabins give family and guests their own space.

She was commissioned to take her owners around the world in safety and comfort. She has spent many winters stored indoors and has always been cared for by her Captain and Owner. A detailed list of the 2022–2024 refit work is available on request.

We've talked about Little Harbor craftsmanship and centerboard designs. BRISE DE MER shows off a few more of the thoughtful details that make Little Harbor owners so loyal:

🔹 A rare two-cabin layout. Most 53s have three cabins. BRISE DE MER has an oversized, full-width master forward with a queen berth, plus a private VIP cabin aft. Each cabin has its own head and separate stall shower.

🔹 Storage that makes sense. Fuel and water tanks sit below the cabin sole, which frees up huge storage space under the seats and adds stiffness overall.

🔹 A versatile cutter rig. She carries a furling main, genoa and staysail, plus an asymmetrical spinnaker for light air.
