just a little FYI….
The rear hub of choice here at Bridge City Wheel Werx utilizes the same 6-bolt rotor mount bolt pattern as the front allowing more options for the rear plus one can get away from SurRon’s proprietary hub design along with their non-compliant rotor mount bolt pattern.
Ask me next time you see me and I’ll show you.
My 21/17 set And my 17” sumo’s both use 6-bolt 44mm bolt pattern. Available at any bicycle shop that supports DH MTB and/or MTB’s in general.
Front and rear 2.7mm thick.
Just so you know.

New 17” rear wheel.
Excel 17 x 2.50” Takasago rim.
Sapim Strong 12 gauge Black SS spokes & ni***es.
Wicked Wheel Werks rear hub for SurRon.
Uses standard 44mm MTB brake rotor (same as front rotor).
Warp 9 48T Sprocket
TRP 2.4mmx203mm Brake rotor
Needs a bead lock, tire, tube, and rim strip to be complete. I’m thinking an 80/90-17 Dunlop MX53 or something similar.
Pics display some important steps to build a wheel properly,
Step 1, Thoroughly clean threaded portion of your spokes.
Step 2, Apply Thread Prep to the spoke threads.
These 2 steps, while commonly skipped by most bicycle manufacturers, will significantly extend the life of any wheel set insuring there will be no corrosion leaving your wheels untruable.
IF you’re building your own wheels don’t skip these steps and rest assured knowing this is common practice here at Bridge City Wheel Werx.
