It has come to my attention that beach life is harder on vehicles than previously realized. It is actually a hazard that the salt creates a hostile atmosphere and does a number on brake lines. Especially vehicles that launch boats in the salt water, the rear brake lines corrode to dangerously thin at the rear axle. I have not really offered it before, but realizing that it could lead to accidents, I am considering offering undercoating. This post is a feeler to see if there would be a market here for this. All tooling is expensive per say, and I can only justify the expense if the tooling needed would pay for itself. I hope this is understandable. In all honesty, would this be something that anyone here would be interested in. Not only brake lines, but the under side of the vehicle. Just thinking about it at this point. I might can offer partial, as rear axle area, or entire under body, for choices to keep price affordable. Your thoughts are encouraged and most certainly welcome. I am your beach mechanic, you are my clientele. We help each other. Being blunt, would y'all want this?

Hopefully the price of fuel, and of course, inflation driven by it, will be coming down soon. This has been hard on all of us. Summer is definitely here, it's air conditioning season. In Texas, AC is more of a necessity than a luxury. I'm considering offering a new service that Spencer's Auto Repair has not offered before. As before, I do air conditioner work on automotive applications, but in an effort to make it more affordable, the plan is, to pull your refrigerant that you may have in your system, if and when present, repair or replace parts as necessary, and reuse the refrigerant that was in the system to fill back when ready to run. The equipment to offer this is not cheap. In trying to make it a purchase that Spencer's Auto Repair can use to buy this equipment, I want your opinion here, I can sell you new freon at $2 per ounce, or your old freon back to you for $1 per ounce. Bear in mind, the equipment does filter out contaminates in this process. Still saving you money by using your old freon in your favor, but makes the equipment purchase eventually pay for itself to even be able to offer it. Thank you for your consideration, trust, and like always, your business. Comments are encouraged and welcome.

Word to the wise, in my field of work, I've learned something that, I hope by you reading this, saves you money. When filling your fuel tank at the pump, do NOT keep adding fuel once the hose kicks off. I realize that the effort is to get the tank "more full". However, the EVAP system that pulls fuel vapors from your tank and stores the fuel smell into your charcoal canister, to burn in your engine as you drive, needs air in the tank for this system to work. If you over fill your tank by making it "more full", the system then pulls actual fuel into your charcoal canister and destroys it. Once destroyed, the check engine light will never stay out until the canister is replaced. This is NOT a cheap repair.
