Port Jefferson Yacht Club The Port Jefferson Yacht Club is a club devoted to the interests of boating, located in Port Jeffer The Club has showers and ice for members and guests.

The Port Jefferson Yacht Club has reciprocal guest privileges with over 65 yacht clubs along the east coast, and frequently are hosts to yachts from all over the world. A comprehensive sailing education program is open to the general public, and includes sailing lessons for juniors as well as adults. ht Club was founded in 1959 and moved to its present location in the southeast corner of Port Jefferson harbor in 1977. The clubhouse, completed in 1982, has a large main room with a bar where meetings and social events are held. Our deck faces west over the harbor and offers one of the best views in town, especially at sunset. Our waterfront has two docks complete with water and electricity for use by Club members and Transients who can utilize them on a limited basis. The majority of our members moor their boats in the adjacent mooring field serviced by our club owned launches. For sailors who live out of the immediate area, Port Jefferson is easily reached by car and the Club has an area for parking. Port Jefferson is one of the most popular deep-water harbors on Long Island Sound. For yacht-club cruises and other visiting sailors, this is the last major port on the Long Island shore as you head eastward. An extensive waterfront and development of the bustling village during the past decade has aided to make "Port Jeff" a must port of call. For the visiting sailors who want to go ashore for supplies or a good meal and stretch ones legs, Setauket Yacht Club provides transient facilities which can include use of moorings (up to 500 lbs). There is an extensive assortment of fine restaurants, varied shopping and several mini-food markets for resupply within a very short walking distance from our dock. There are also two commercial fuel docks a short distance away. The attraction of idyllic protected coves totally within the Port Jefferson harbor complex for overnight and weekend anchoring adds to the reason why many cruising sailors have selected Setauket Yacht Club for their home port. Furthermore, because of it's central location on Long Island Sound, Port Jefferson is a more convenient jumping off point to sailors of Long Island and New York City than harbors to the west for the extended cruises to points east like Block Island, Narragansett Bay and the islands of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket off Cape Cod and beyond!
