Yesterday at the Sam's Club gas station while fuelling up my Eldorado, a nice lady saw my Ontario license plates and yelled "We're sorry, Canada". I didn't know what to reply. I just said "Everything will work out". I appreciate the sentiment. But I am not going to take sides. Because there isn't one.

I'm very much pro-American.
I'm very much pro-Canadian.

I was born in Canada.
I've had family in West Texas my whole life. This meant family trips across the border and down through the Ozarks to visit them.
I've serviced many Cadillacs with license plates from over 30 states and all Canadian provinces.

Our people are not that different. Right now we're being fed propaganda from both sides meant to fuel a divide.

I don't care about the name of a Lake, as long as the water is kept clean and people from both sides have access to it and enjoy it. I care about the people. Names don't matter. Canada is in America, always has been. So the "new" name is not incorrect. To many of us it will always be Lake Ontario.

The truth is, I don't know what is going to eventually happen to the two economies, or the border as it has been known for many years.
But I do know one thing.

There is no amount of propaganda they can feed me to turn against my neighbour. Not now, not tomorrow, not ever. I want to encourage you to follow suit. We are all better than that. The next viral video that gets views through divisive politics, or the next idiot with loose lips that says something negative, does not speak for all of us.

Trust in God and what ever His plan is for North America. I pray that every one of you, on both sides of the line, are prosperous and can navigate the trade situation as it keeps changing. I, myself, am getting there. It's been challenging. But God will always make a way for you. If a door closes, a window will open.

Who is the go-to for window tinting in Port Huron & surrounding area?

Recommendations requested as I want to get my Eldorado done soon and I would like a place to refer my customers to.

Thanks in advance

It rains on everybody from time to time. Today it rained on me.

Note to self: When your supercharger suddenly gets louder, and your car isn't supercharged, your alternator bearing is about to leave the chat.

Swapping out batteries three times I made it back home. Well, I guess it was about due for an alternator. Sometimes they give you little to no warning.

Back to work tomorrow early AM.

If you fix Northstars and you want to be listed on WrenchNet, it's open to any repair method (so long as it does not infringe on my patent). If you use Suregrip Head Studs, this notice will appear in the listing.

If you use time-serts or normserts or whatever that's fine, we still want you on there. The people willing to fix these cars are getting fewer by the year. This could help people keep their old Northstars on the road, and could help your shop bring more work through the door.

We are almost finished with the listings portion of the WrenchNet site. All scheduling for repairs (at least for our shop) will be done through here.

I don't mind working. And most people I work for, I am happy to. That 1% that either does not pay, complains about a tail light burning out 2 weeks after I fixed their engine, or for some reason thinks it's ok to complain about how hot it is in my shop, make me re-think what I do for a living. It shouldn't be like that.

I appreciate being respected. Most people do. In the famous words of Margaret Houlihan (M*A*S*H, Loretta Swit), "I expect nothing more and I will accept nothing less". A hand shake and a smile is what every business transaction should end with- and sometimes that takes a little effort from both sides. Mechanics often get surprises that not even YOU knew about. And they are often the bearer of bad news. Don't shoot the messenger!

Businesses often get reviews. Customers never do. That's going to change. I don't know when. But it will. And 99% of people are going to get good reviews and will have ZERO issue finding specialty shops to work on their stuff. That 1% that makes life difficult for mechanics, simply will have to fix their own stuff if they want to drive at all.

Anyway. Every shop owner with a listing on WrenchNet (and I am one of them) is going to have their own professional dashboard. It will help with the Northstar stuff, and maybe some other things down the road.

We've had a very, very stormy day here with downed power lines and snapped trees. Didn't get as much done as I wanted or needed. But tomorrow is a new day.

Good night all.

Saw this in another group. The 6.5 (and smaller 6.2) did sound like a bag of hammers being dragged down a bumpy road, but it's still an engine that has my respect.

Do you have a WrenchNet profile?

There are cool features coming to this new social media platform that all of the existing platforms do not have.

One is the "My Garage" area where you can privately keep track of your vehicles (cars and trucks for now) and their maintenance, fuel economy, pending repairs, repair costs, etc.....

Built for gear heads, by a gear head!
