What does the future of manufacturing look like?

35 curious, future problem-solvers walking through our doors.

Yesterday, 20 of our team members brought their kids (ages 5–15) to PJWS for Take Your Child to Work Day. They saw our production in action, got involved in hands-on activities, and experienced what it means to work in our industry.

Manufacturing is far more than machines and products. It's about creativity, problem-solving, and building something that matters. And yesterday, we got to share that with the next generation. Who knows...maybe we even met a few future PJWS employees.

Thank you to our team and their kids for making this a fun experience!

Yesterday, 10 high school juniors and seniors from Port Huron Schools spent time onsite with our VP of Engineering, Brandon Bartneck. Not just for a tour of our production, but a chance to better understand manufacturing in practice.

Students walked away learning...

1. Design decisions aren't siloed
2. Manufacturing choices change what a “good” design looks like
3. Quality is about more than checking parts at the end
4. Real engineering requires thinking beyond your own function
5. Understanding the whole system makes you a better engineer

We're on a path to reinventing manufacturing through people, and it starts with introducing early career talent to what the work actually looks like. We believe the future of manufacturing won't be built by people chasing titles, perks, or comfortable roles. It'll be built by those who are hungry enough to ask questions and find a better solution, humble enough to learn across functions, and smart enough to connect the whole system and see the value of people along the way.

We're building better in manufacturing, and we're intentional about seeking those with the right character and capability to help us do so.

Thank you to our PHASD partners and these awesome students for joining us!

We’re proud to celebrate our team member, Traci Thompson, as one of only nine finalists nationwide in the 2025 HealthyMe Contest through our partner American Health & Wellness.

Her results speak for themselves. But what stands out most is her mindset.

“Sometimes the first step is the hardest. I resisted the change, but once I started, I never looked back.”

Our Chief People Officer, Tracey Fletcher, shared:

“Traci’s story is a strong testament to what’s possible when you take a long-term preventative approach to your health goals. Small changes add up to big results with the right mindset and resources. We are proud to play a role in her story through the coaching and support that our partners at American Health & Wellness offer. It’s through this focus that we believe we can save lives.”

At PJWS, we're committed to helping our employees build better, live longer.

Today we celebrate Dawn and her incredible 40-year journey at PJWS. 🎉

“When I first joined the company, I never imagined the journey ahead — the opportunities to grow, to learn, to take on new challenges, and to work alongside such talented and dedicated people. It’s been forty years of countless lessons and so many great memories. I’m grateful for every opportunity and proud of the journey.” – Dawn Roe, Production Manager

For four decades, Dawn didn’t just come to work. She poured her heart into PJWS and the people around her. From guiding our teams with wisdom and care to laying the foundation we’re building on today, Dawn’s impact is immeasurable. Her loyalty, leadership, and dedication have touched so many lives, both professionally and personally.

Colleagues shared:

“Your vast knowledge, unwavering dedication, and genuine care for every member of the team have left an incredible mark on all of us.”

“You show up and learn every single day, and that’s an inspiration.”

“Working closely with you has meant so much to me… I’m truly grateful for all the support, guidance, and care you’ve shown along the way.”

A 40-year career at one organization is rare, and the mark Dawn leaves on our culture and people will be felt for years to come. Thank you, Dawn, for everything. You will be greatly missed as you enter retirement, and we are better for having had you with us.

Happy Retirement, Dawn!

What a way to wrap up the year! 🎉

Recently, we spent time with our employees and their families at our annual holiday party, including cookie decorating, face painting, and a special visit from Santa. 🎅 The day was a reminder that the people behind the work are what truly make us special.

Chris Wallbank, our CEO, shared reflections on 2025 before we recognized some meaningful anniversary milestones, including a very special early celebration for our Production Manager's incredible 40 years with PJWS. It's an extraordinary legacy we're proud to honor.

We also celebrated our 2025 “Our Best” Award winners. These are peer-nominated teammates who consistently live our core values:

Treat Others as You Want to Be Treated: Maggie Fiori
Take Ownership: Brad Williamson
Challenge the Status Quo: April Brockitt
Win or Learn: Matt Scheffler
Ideal Team Player (Hungry, Humble, Smart): Brandon Smith

To everyone who joined us and to those celebrating milestones who couldn’t be there...thank you for being part of what makes PJ Wallbank Springs such a great place to work.

From all of us at PJWS, we wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and a happy holiday season. 🎄

Big, name-brand companies look impressive on a resume. But often don't challenge or support you in a way that accelerate your career. Having worked at Bose and Boeing, our VP of Engineering, Brandon Bartneck, has seen the difference first hand and is leading our Intern Academy to intentionally prepare engineers with the capabilities to build a career that matters.

If you or someone you know is ready to build a career rather than just a resume, our 2026 Intern Academy application is open!

📣 It's official! Our 2026 Summer Engineering Intern Academy application is now open.

The reality is, many internships provide busy work or repetitive tasks that don’t necessarily teach real-world engineering skills. Leaving students unsure how to connect classroom learning to meaningful engineering.

Bright, motivated students deserve an internship where their work matters, where their skills grow, and where they can accelerate their career.

We get it. That’s why we call ours an Intern Academy.

It's designed to grow curious minds into future leaders who raise the bar in manufacturing. How? By giving them ownership to tackle real, complex engineering problems and providing frequent coaching by experienced engineers to grow and gaining skills that set them apart from their peers.

We’re raising the bar on what it means to be an engineer. Because we're not just building products, we're building people.

👤 Graduating high school seniors and engineering college students
📅 Intern Academy runs from May-August 2026
📍 Port Huron, MI

Don’t miss your chance to grow faster than you thought possible.

Family Day is one of our favorite traditions and this year's was one to remember!

Our team and their families gathered at Goodells Park for an afternoon of fun and laughter. Whether you wanted to compete, play, relax, or simply share good food, there was something for everyone - from Jenga and Connect Four to face painting, bounce houses, raffle prizes, and a butterfly garden. We even hosted our very own corn hole tournament (congrats Kevin Boyea and April Brockitt on the win!).

But more than activities, Family Day is about strengthening connections inside and outside of work. It's one small way we're building a culture that values our people, their families, and community.

A big thank you to our volunteers for making it possible and to everyone who joined in the fun. 💙

What happens when you give five engineering interns real problems to solve, the tools to succeed, and the mentors to guide them?

You get a summer of…being challenged to grow, being supported to try bold ideas (even if they fail), being trusted with projects that make a real impact, and being surrounded by people who care about your success.

But don’t just take our word for it, here’s what this summer's interns said:

"I was given the opportunity to voice my opinion and share my ideas with the team."

"Knowing that I made someone’s job easier was the most fulfilling and rewarding part of my summer."

"The culture here focuses on learning…I can try new things and explore my curiosities without having to worry about failure."

“The stigma around most internships is that you’re just going to do a bunch of busy work or grunt work, but that’s completely different here. It’s great knowing that my work, especially early in my career, will actually have an impact."

"This internship provides a fantastic balance of challenging, hands-on projects and invaluable professional mentorship in a supportive environment."

Gabrielle Hudson, Jack Thomas Pennewell, James Morearty, Kylie Parent, and Mara Schweihofer: we’re proud of what you accomplished this summer and even more excited about the careers you’ll build. Help us congratulate our 2025 Summer Engineering Interns as they head back to school!

If you or someone you know is looking to launch their career in engineering or manufacturing, we’re happy to talk. Stay tuned for our Summer 2026 Intern Academy application!

This week, we had the privilege of recognizing our 2025 STEM Scholarship recipients. These are high achieving students (Valedictorian, Student Council, FIRST Robotics, Student Athletes) who impressively represent the next generation of engineering talent in our community.

To our scholarship recipients: we’re excited to follow your next chapter, cheer you on, and one day, see the impact you’ll make in our industry and beyond. Congratulations!

For us, supporting early-career talent is a necessary investment for the future we're trying to build in Manufacturing.
