Congratulations to Captain Scott “Red” Flowers and the entire Portā DARK:30 Velocity team on completing the 2026 Great Loop Challenge Powered by Honda Marine — an extraordinary endurance journey of more than 7,300 nautical miles aboard their custom 30-foot Portā DARK:30 Velocity powered by twin Honda BF350 V8 outboards.

We were extremely proud to play a small part in this incredible journey when Red and his team stopped at Catawba Island, Ohio, where Justyn Holmes and the Dubberts team serviced the twin Honda BF350s before sending them back out to continue the challenge.

⚓ AND THEY WERE FAR FROM FINISHED.

After leaving Catawba Island following their Dubberts service, Red and his team still had approximately 3,000 nautical miles — roughly 3,450 regular miles — left to travel before completing the challenge.

That’s THOUSANDS OF ADDITIONAL MILES and countless hours of hard running after leaving our shop.

These Honda BF350s weren’t simply cruising around Lake Erie. They were being put through one of the toughest real-world endurance tests imaginable — running day after day across the Great Lakes, inland waterways, rivers and Gulf Coast on their way back to Florida.

We couldn’t be prouder of Justyn Holmes and our service team for having the opportunity to help keep this incredible journey moving to completion.

But as impressive as the boat, crew, engines, mileage and accomplishment are, the most important part of this story is WHY Red did it.

Red is a cancer survivor who turned his experience into a mission to help children fighting cancer. His goal is to raise $1 MILLION for pediatric cancer research through the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
