🎉 POP POP'S DETAIL SHOP — CELEBRATING ONE YEAR! 🎉

One year of business. More than a decade of passion. A community we're proud to serve.

October marks a special milestone for Pop Pop's Detail Shop!

While my passion for automotive detailing began more than 10 years ago, October 2025 marked the official beginning of a new chapter — opening my insured, appointment-only, home-based boutique auto rejuvenation salon right here in Port Charlotte.

What started as a passion for bringing out the very best in every vehicle became an opportunity to share that passion with our local community. And as I look back on this first year, one thing stands out above everything else: the people.

To every customer who trusted me with their vehicle, every neighbor who spread the word, everyone who took the time to leave a review, and everyone who has supported this small business along the way — THANK YOU!

Your support means more than you know. Being a small, locally owned business allows me to do things my way: one vehicle at a time, with personal attention, thoughtful recommendations, and no cookie-cutter approach.

Because around here, it's never about how many vehicles we can push through the door. It's about the care, craftsmanship, and attention each one deserves.

❤️ LET'S CELEBRATE!

As a thank-you to the Port Charlotte community, I'm offering these special anniversary savings throughout October:

✨ $150 OFF ANY CERAMIC COATING PACKAGE
Book your ceramic coating package by October 31, 2026, and save $150. All work must be completed by December 31, 2026.

✨ 10% OFF ALL OTHER DETAILING SERVICES
Any other detailing service performed during October qualifies for 10% off.

Whether your vehicle needs a little rejuvenation or you're ready to elevate its appearance and protection with a ceramic coating, there's no better time to give it the attention it deserves.

Pop Pop's Detail Shop is proud to serve Port Charlotte and the surrounding communities, and I'm looking forward to what the next year brings.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU DETAIL YOUR VEHICLE?

The answer might surprise you. It's not necessarily every three months, every six months, or even once a year.

It depends on your vehicle. And it depends on you.

A daily driver exposed to Florida's relentless sunshine, rain, road grime, and everyday use has different needs than a weekend cruiser tucked safely away in the garage.

A family SUV has different needs than a meticulously maintained classic.

And a vehicle protected by a quality ceramic coating has different maintenance needs than one relying on traditional wax or sealant.

Here's what matters most:

🔹 CONSISTENT MAINTENANCE — Regular washing helps prevent contaminants from accumulating and keeps your vehicle looking its best.

🔹 PREVENTIVE CARE — Interior surfaces, exterior paint, trim, and protective coatings all benefit from attention before neglect becomes a costly problem.

🔹 THE RIGHT TIMING — Professional detailing isn't necessarily something you need every few months. The right interval depends on your vehicle's condition, driving habits, storage, and protection.

At Pop Pop's Detail Shop, we don't believe in arbitrary schedules or one-size-fits-all packages.

Every vehicle begins with a complimentary consultation and a thorough walkaround. We discuss how you use your vehicle, evaluate its current condition, and determine what makes sense for you.

Sometimes that means a comprehensive rejuvenation. Other times, it's simply the right maintenance to preserve the work that's already been done.

Because exceptional vehicle care isn't about doing more than necessary. It's about doing what's right.

Some cars are more than just cars. They're a lifetime of memories.

This 1966 Pontiac GTO has been part of its owner's life for more than 45 years. The immaculate interior and beautifully maintained exterior tell the story of an owner who has taken tremendous pride in preserving a true American classic.

Getting the opportunity to rejuvenate the finish and apply ceramic protection to a car with this kind of history was a privilege.

For me, this is what makes detailing rewarding. It's not simply about making a vehicle shine. It's about understanding what it means to its owner, respecting the care that's gone into it over the years, and giving it the personal attention it deserves.

Some vehicles call for more than a service. They deserve a thoughtful approach.

Well, this was a pretty cool surprise…

Pop Pop’s Detail Shop has been nominated for the "2026 Best of Charlotte" — Auto Detailers!

To be completely honest, just seeing my little one-car-at-a-time detailing studio included among nine nominated auto detailers is humbling. I started Pop Pop’s after retiring from Corporate America with a pretty simple goal: stay busy, do work I enjoy, and give every vehicle the kind of personal attention that can be difficult to find in a high-volume detailing environment.

So, to be recognized by the community like this? That means something.

There is a little bit of a process if you’d like to cast a vote. Once you open the link, scroll down to Auto, Marine & Carts, then find Auto Detailing and select Pop Pop’s Detail Shop.

I know… they didn't exactly make it a one-click process. 😂

But if you've experienced Pop Pop’s, trusted me with one of your vehicles, referred someone my way, or simply enjoy following along with what I do, I'd be incredibly grateful for your vote.

Voting ends tonight at midnight.

Thank you for supporting this little adventure of mine. Whether it's a vote, a referral, a review, or simply following along, I don't take any of it for granted.

POP POP’S DETAIL SHOP — ON THE ROAD

What started as a road trip to take Pop Pop’s Detail Shop to Chicago and Louisville turned into three incredible weeks of cars, family, and some seriously rewarding work.

Over the course of the trip, seven very different vehicles received the Pop Pop’s treatment — from nearly 50-year-old classics to everyday family drivers.

🔴 1977 Chevrolet Scottsdale Stepside
🏆 1966 Pontiac GTO
⚪ 2021 Honda Civic
🛻 2014 RAM 1500 4X4
🖤 2024 GMC Sierra X31 Off-Road
🖤 2019 Cadillac CTS
🖤 2025 Chevrolet Traverse

Each vehicle received a process based on its individual condition and goals. pH-neutral washing, mechanical and mineral decontamination, paint enhancement, Adhesion Promoter Polish, ceramic coatings and finishing protection were all part of the journey.

Some needed preservation.
Some needed refinement.
Some needed a little more correction.

The paint dictated the process.

That philosophy doesn't change whether I'm working on a classic muscle car in Chicago, a family daily in Louisville, or a vehicle here at home in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Now the polishers are back home, the road-trip memories are made, and Pop Pop’s Detail Shop is back in the garage.

October bookings are now open.

If your vehicle could use some rejuvenation, refinement or long-term protection, request your complimentary consultation and let's determine what your vehicle actually needs.
