I have seen more and more posts like this. To sum up what Jacob Allen says and to shed some light on why I stepped away after the 2021 season, drivers, at all levels, get burned out. Running a local race team out of our own pocket, save for a couple of amazing businesses willing to give you a couple hundred to couple thousand of their dollars for you to compete, is taxing. Teams like ours couldn't afford to pay people to work on our stuff, so we had to do it all. Sometimes 3 people turning maintenance or just me depending on everyone else's schedule. By October of 2021 I wasn't having any fun. I felt like my driving and ability was on a tremendous upswing but mentally I couldn't even focus on my day job I was so spent. I was angry, grumpy, snappy...all of it. I needed a break and a recharge.
The flip side ,I didn't realize even a Saturday night speedway driver like myself was a hero to anyone until I found out my car and my "talents" were missed at the track through statements, messages, comments. I've had a chance to reset, travel, spend time with my family, see things, do things and enjoy my life.
BUT- Racing is my passion, and as such we are entertaining putting the 24m back together again for either the 2024 or 2025 season. Caveat being that we would run a semi-limited schedule, take a vacation or two so we'd miss a night here or there, and my kids events, sports, activities come first. But try and be involved again and enjoy what it is I know how to do. I would happily work with a car owner and secure sponsorships as saw fit or if that's not feasible, we will work to put together our own equipment and field a single car team driven by myself and likely one of my sons at times. Any interest in sponsorship can be directed to me, just send a message and I'll provide my number to discuss further. If we can make it work we will be back on track soon enough. If we can't, well still see all of you at the track.
Thanks-
Ace
