The typical fitting for water return in a pool or spa, is an 1 ½” pipe fitting that screws into the outlet plumbing and in turn, has an opposing round opening with a ball-shaped segment that can be turned to direct the flow of semi-pressurized water to any one direction within the ball segment’s range. That is to say, the water flow can only flow one direction at a time per jet fitting.
The "Spider-Jet Manifold" features the same male pipe fitting, that threads into a standard pool or spa’s return plumbing outlet, making it a nearly universal fit with no modifications required. Conversely, instead of one opposing angle only adjustable opening, The Spider-Jet includes several openings made to accept otherwise available modular hose, that can be quickly and easily be reduced or extended in length by just one or many sections of modular hose, comprising the “Spider legs", thereby creating the ability to direct the water flow in as many directions at one time within the pool area as there are openings in the Spider Jet Manifold. These changes an often even be made without additional tools.
NakedSculpture, Spider-Jet uses 5 openings. One opening has a valve installed usually in the center, to quickly change the resulting pressure in every opening.
Reduced-size nozzles are included to raise the pressure per leg for greater jet stream distance, both in height and horizontal reach.
Meaning that, yes you can create fountain effects with just the addition of Spider Jet.
With the addition of the modular hose, the water returning to the pool or spa can be directed one direction, as the standard single-opening jet can accomplish, but can also be pointed many directions at once, for instance into a corner or along a wall for cleaning, upward for aeration, as well as recreation, audible and visual aesthetic features, or any combination you prefer.
In addition to a single direction limitation on water flow, the aforementioned standard fittings can provide only an approximately 20 degree sweep from straight ahead (perpendicular to the pool wall) to only one direction at a time. The nearly infinite range of motion provided by the Spider-Jet Manifold eliminates this issue and it’s failings, in the following ways:
1) Allows for the manual direction of debris, leaves, etc. toward the skimmer
2) Allows for cleaning at the water line, where fine debris tends to gather
3) Able to clean difficult-to-reach areas (i.e. corners of underwater steps) and clean multiple areas simultaneously
4) Allows for cleaning and cooling of the pool deck, reducing harmfully high temperatures of the walking surface
5) Facilitates safe and evenly-distributed mixing of necessary, regularly used chemicals in the form of powder or liquid
6) Mixing of water of different temperatures, both from a mechanical heater as well as natural heating from ambient air and sunlight that tends to remain at the top
7) Jet pressure so easily manipulated helps to aerate the water which can assist in effective chemical-balancing when needed
Potential Recreational, Aesthetic and Therapeutic Benefits (not limited to but may include):
1) Creating fountain effects for visual and audio aesthetics as well as various forms of play
2) With no extra invasive or expensive plumbing and very little labor, ability to add water to play accessories such as pool slides and diving boards (anything on the pool deck) for very brief or extended periods of time
3) The pressurized water may also be used, with caution, as a massage tool, under the directions of a therapeutic professional

The manifold body is made of stainless steel.
Modular hose: ¾” diameter; minimum 2” length, and any desired maximum length
Additional hose segments, optional nozzles, and in-line valves can be purchased at additional cost to the customer.

This offers the ability to change the direction of flow from straight up to straight down and anywhere in between. And a Valve to shut off flow completely.
In a two-jet system the pool owner would use only one of these.
In conjunction with a SpiderJet, The Spider Leg can be used to raise the over all pool jet system pressure to make the spider jet even more effective.
