New C8 Z06 in for PPF, correction, and a Nxtzen ceramic — and yeah, it's basically brand new. Days old.

People always ask what makes a PPF install last, and honestly? It's not the install itself. It's all the boring stuff that happens before the film comes out.

We spent hours on this one just getting the surface ready. Full wash, decon, iron remover, clay — the whole routine. Then a detail brush through every inlet, vent, mesh panel, and gap on the car, and the Z06 has a lot of those. It's tedious and nobody ever takes pictures of it, but it matters. Anything we miss gets sealed under the film, and that's the kind of thing that shows up six months down the road as a lifted edge.
We also did a light correction before the film went on. Even brand new cars come off the dealer lot with some swirl marks, and we'd rather fix them now than trap them under PPF for the next decade.

PPF and finished shots coming soon — stay tuned.

Lexus LC500 in for the full treatment at Humble Crew Auto Spa — paint correction, PPF, and a ceramic coating on top.

The deep blue paint was hiding a lot. Once we pulled it under the lights, you could see the swirls, wash marks, and haze that come with normal ownership. A multi-stage paint correction brought the gloss back and let the metallic flake actually pop the way Lexus intended.

From there, we wrapped the high-impact areas in PPF — full hood, fenders, front bumper, mirrors, and A-pillars — so rock chips and road debris hit the film instead of the paint. Finished with Nxtzen ceramic coating over the whole car for slickness, gloss, and easier washes going forward.

This is the package we recommend for anyone who wants a car to look this good five years from now, not just on delivery day.

Laguna Seca Blue G80 M3 — full front PPF, Full Ceramic Coating

Anyone can do PPF on a hood. The bumper is where shops separate.

Four things make a top-level install:
↳ Alignment around the kidney grille
↳ Stretch into the M3 badge valley
↳ Speed within the film's working window
↳ Cleanliness — every speck is permanent

Edges hand-tucked. NXTZEN Elite over the whole car.

BMW M3 Competition in Laguna Seca Blue — full front PPF install.

Anyone can do a hood. The bumper is where shops separate. Compound curves, the kidney grille perimeter, the recessed M3 badge, sensor cutouts, fog light surrounds — every inch of this panel asks something different from the film.

Four things separate a top-level bumper install from a mediocre one:

Alignment. Pre-cut templates get you 90% there. The other 10% is reading the panel and getting the kidney grille reveal even on both sides. Position twice, squeegee once.

Stretch. The film has to drop into recessed valleys (like around the M3 badge) and wrap outside curves without fi*****ng, lifting, or thinning out. Heat helps, but too much heat ruins the film.

Speed. PPF has a working window. Once the slip solution flashes off, the film is committed. Senior installers work at the speed the film wants to be worked — not rushed, not slow.

Cleanliness. Every speck of dust under the film is permanent. Filtered air, prep wipes, clean gloves. The trash you see in a bad bumper install is almost always a prep failure, not a technique one.

Edges hand-tucked, no visible seams. Followed up with NXTZEN Elite ceramic coating over the entire car.

BMW M3 Competition in Laguna Seca Blue — full protection package starts here.

Before any film, any coating, any correction — the prep. This is the part most shops rush and most customers never see, and it's the difference between a finished car that lasts and one that doesn't.
The process:

-Pre-rinse and foam soak to break down road film without touching the paint
-Two-bucket hand wash with dedicated mitts
-Clay bar to pull off bonded contamination — overspray, brake dust, rail dust from transport. Even brand-new cars have it.
-Wheels, tires, and door jambs done individually with their own brushes and cloths

By the time prep is done, the car is cleaner than it was the day it left the factory. Now we can actually start the work.

Stay tuned for part two — the install.

BMW Individual Oxford Green X5 M60i — full protection package.

BMW Individual is BMW's special-order paint program. The colors aren't on the standard menu, and spec'ing one takes a customer who's done their homework. In direct sun this paint reads almost black. Walk around it and the metallic flake comes alive — deep emerald with hints of silver.

The full treatment:

-Paint correction to remove factory and dealer-prep defects
-NXTZEN Elite ceramic coating: Car stays cleaner longer, and doesn't stain as easily.
-Full front PPF — hood, bumper, fenders, mirrors, A-pillars, door cups. Edges hand-tucked, no visible seams. Physical durability from rock chips and scuffs.
-Vivid Signature tint by UltraFit at 25% all around (TX legal limit on front, kept consistent for a clean factory look)

Each service does a different job. Skip one and you've left a gap.

A 997.2 Turbo S rolled into the shop and I had to take a second when I saw the spec.
Silver over saddle brown leather interior, center-lock wheels, ceramic brakes (the yellow calipers give it away).

This is a really well-optioned car — the brown interior especially is rare. Most people checked the box for black, so seeing one this clean is a treat. These 997.2 Turbo S models are also quietly becoming collector cars, which makes preserving it all the more worth it.

Owner brought it in for the full preservation package:

Paint correction — Polished out the swirls and light scratches that build up over time. Silver hides defects pretty well, but once the sun hits it just right, you can see everything. We got it back to a clean, even finish before coating.

Ceramic coating on the exterior — This is the part that protects the paint going forward. Bird droppings, tree sap, road grime, water spots — things that normally eat into clear coat over time get blocked by the coating. Wash days get easier too because contamination doesn't bond to the paint the same way.

Leather coating on the interior — This is the one I really wanted to do right on this car. That saddle brown leather is gorgeous but it's also the most stain-prone color in the world. Dark jeans, a stray pen, a coffee spill — any of those can leave a permanent mark on light leather. The coating we use creates a barrier that resists stains and dye transfer, while also blocking UV so the leather doesn't fade or crack over time. On a rare interior like this, it's the difference between a car that ages beautifully and one that has to be reupholstered in 5 years.

If you've got something special and you want to keep it that way, come by the shop in Plano. Always happy to talk through what makes sense for your car.

Kia stopped making the Stinger back in 2023, so they're getting harder to find. Twin-turbo V6, rear-wheel drive, and a shape that honestly still looks great. The owner brought it in because the paint had lost some of its pop and the inside needed some love.

Here's what we did:

First, paint correction. Basically, we machine-polish the paint to remove all the tiny scratches, swirl marks, and water spots that build up over time. Red paint is tough because every little defect shows up — but when you get it right, the color comes alive again.

Then a ceramic coating, which is basically a clear protective layer that bonds to the paint. It makes washing easier (water sheets right off), keeps the paint glossier longer, and gives you a few years of protection from UV and contamination.
And finally a full interior detail — cleaned the leather, conditioned it, hit all the vents and trim, shampooed the carpets. Reset the whole cabin.

If you've got a car you care about and you're somewhere around Plano, Frisco, or Allen, come say hi. Always happy to talk through what your car actually needs.

Porsche Macan: a PPF right of passage.

These hoods are notoriously difficult to wrap due to their large clamshell shape. Some nuances of the install:

-Prep work is more tedious: We not only remove the badge and clay the surface, but we wax hard edges so that the adhesive doesn't prematurely tack (stick) during the aggressive stretch of the film we'll have to do to get the film to lay. This ensures that we don't have torn adhesive marks during our install, leading to a clean finish.

-The stretch is ridiculous. We bulk install the hood using XL 72 inch film (standard is 60), pulling it aggressively towards the doors, all while distributing the excess material so that it lays smoothly across the panel so it tucks evenly and doesn't lift over time.

-Everything gets trimmed by hand, about 5 mm from the perimeter so that we can tuck the film. Tucked film looks better (no seams), is more durable (fewer exposed edges, leading to film not lifting), and leads to a cleaner install. We also trim on the inner part of the headlight trim and tuck there as well.

The rest of the car is a breeze, but the hood... This install tests installers and if done correctly, is a right of passage here at Humble Crew Auto Spa.

Ford F-450 in for NXTZEN GS02 ceramic coating AKA our Gold Package

This truck gets parked outside, so UV protection was a big reason for choosing GS02. Constant sun exposure is brutal on paint. Over time, it can dull the finish, fade the color, and wear down the clear coat — especially on a truck that sees the weather every day.

One thing we like about GS02 is that NXTZEN clearly put real focus into its UV resistance. It is not just a coating made to look glossy for photos. It was built to help protect the paint from the kind of long-term sun exposure that outdoor vehicles deal with constantly.

It also gives the truck stronger chemical resistance and easier maintenance, which matters on something this size. Dirt, water spots, bird droppings, and road grime are all easier to clean off before they have a chance to sit and cause damage.

For a truck that lives outside, this coating makes a lot of sense.
