PENNSYLVANIA STATE SAFETY AND EMISSIONS INSPECTION
We understand nobody likes to bring their car in for inspection, it's inconvenient and you're always worried that the inspector will find something serious. However here are a few tips to make things go a little easier. Make an appointment for a day that you can leave the car with us for the day. If you can leave the car with us for the day we can often get any necessary minor repairs completed in one day so that you won't have to return for a second visit. We need two documents to do an inspection: The current registration and the current proof of insurance. If you only need an emission inspection, all we need is the current registration. We offer both OBD II and Tailpipe Emission Testing. Schedule for the middle of the month, the first and last weeks of the month are the busiest time for inspections.

OIL CHANGES
Wether you require standard oil or full synthetic oil, we use top quality oil and filters. We check the condition of the engine air filter and cabin air filter. Every car that comes into our shop for an oil change we look over with a complimentary multipoint inspection. We do this to advise you on any safety or reliability issues that you might not be aware of. Nobody likes emergency repairs, so we try to do our best to make sure that they are not necessary. We will check wiper blades, fluid levels, the condition and air pressure of the tires, the condition of the battery, along with the condition of the belts and hoses under the hood. We will visually check the suspension and brakes for anything that doesn’t quite feel or look right. We will not remove tires, unless tire rotation is requested, or dig deep into suspension issues, but we will advise you if we feel that further diagnosis is warranted. Of course there is no obligation to address anything that we find, in fact most items can be taken care of at your convenience. After all, our goal is to take care of maintenance on your schedule, not wait for the car to demand it.

PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
The best way to prevent unexpected and costly breakdowns is by doing routine, scheduled maintenance. This way you can choose when to bring your vehicle in and avoid the uncertainty of repair costs.

How do I know what my vehicle needs?
There are several ways to answer that question. Most of the scheduled maintenance is printed in the owner's manual that resides in the glove box. It's not very interesting reading, but there is a lot of useful information in there. You may also search the internet or just give us a call. We'll be happy to look up your records and check what is needed in the future.

Do I have to go back to the dealer to maintain my warranty?
No. The manufacturers can require that certain specifications are met when performing services such as changing oil or transmission fluid, but they cannot require a certain brand or location for service. We only use fluids that meet the OEM specifications.
