Found a video from 2022 that never went up apparently. This was an interesting day. I had only owned my M3 for a few weeks and it decided to break on me during a route planning/scouting run. Thankfully the trusty Toyota Celica came in to save the day!

ANOTHER OPENING! 🥳

Today, Aug. 29, the Blue Ridge Parkway opened from milepost 420.2 to milepost 423.2, near Devil’s Courthouse, after completing a Helene landslide repair project at milepost 422.

Completion of this project restores continuous access to over 85 miles of the park from milepost 382, in Asheville, NC, to the southern terminus of the park at milepost 469, near Cherokee. The Devil’s Courthouse overlook and trail are also now open.

For safety reasons, the park asks that people continue to be patient and respect remaining closures. Multiple seen and unseen hazards exist in closed areas, and crews and heavy equipment at work make areas unsafe. Visitors should also be aware that trail assessments are also still underway, and caution should be exercised as hikers may encounter hazards on trails such as landslides, tree debris, and washed-out sections or bridges.

Good morning everyone!

Thanks for your interest in attending my next drive/meet in September! This will be my first overnight event, and I can promise you, it's worth it. Kentucky and Virginia have some fantastic roads with very little traffic to slow things down. Also, there are a few businesses popping up that support automotive tourism in that area that are great to patronize.

The Western Front Hotel in St Paul, VA has currently blocked off 10 rooms for our group, with a discount applied as well. Rooms are getting reserved quickly, so make sure to give them a call ASAP to reserve your room. I have had about 18 people initially reach out requesting this hotel info. They may have other rooms available as well in case we go over the ones initially reserved for us.

I have stayed in the hotel before and had a fantastic experience. It's in a cute town that is centrally located to all of the roads we will be exploring Saturday and Sunday.

People from everyone flocked to the newly opened section of the Blue Ridge Parkway.

This section between the NC Arboretum on HW 191 and HWY 151 has been closed for 11 months since one of many land slides in the region caused massive damage to the road. The feeling of excitement, peace, joy and happiness was shared by all, no matter what their connection is to these few miles of precious highway.

The Parkway is open from Asheville. We at the Pisgah Inn would like to thank all the National Park employees and the Construction teams that made this happen so we can enjoy a larger section of America's Favorite Drive. Come enjoy our section of the Parkway this weekend and stop by the Inn for peaceful stay, a great meal at our Restaurant, or a fantastic memento from our Gift Shop. As a reminder the road has been closed for almost a year and the wildlife has grown accustomed to no traffic so if you do decide to drive the Parkway be extra careful for wildlife.
