Set of Boss 302 heads I finished up last week. These received a fresh valve job, bowl blend, guides sized and final assembly with tool steel retainers and springs for a small solid roller. Valves were faced and intake valves received a second angle back-cut and checked volume on one chamber. Should be a nice set of heads.

Test your crimps!
When I'm doing big electrical cables one thing I like to do is test my crimp, especially if you're using a new tool.
To test the crimp, simply take a spare cable end, crimp it as you normally would, then put it in a vise and, with a hack saw (or on a band saw), cut the crimp in half. It should look like one solid piece of copper. If it doesn't...if you can see strands or space between the strands, you need to work on your crimp. This was done with a Temco hydraulic crimper on #1 all copper cable.

Finished installing a set of T&D "race" rockers on these Ford FE heads. This is a little bit involved but a really nice set up when done. The T&D assembly has an upper and lower bar. The lower bar attaches to the head and is basically held in place by the head bolts. Then the upper bar is bolted to the lower bar, and the rocker assemblies attach to that. I upgrade the system to head studs instead of bolts, and I do a little more work to positively locate the lower bar.

SINGEL OR DOUBLE FLAIR ON STAINLESS BRAKE LINES?
I'm getting a lot of mixed messages on flaring stainless brake lines. DOT requires double flair but I'm really on the fence on this one. The default answer is always double flair brake lines because of the high pressure but then I hear to not double flair stainless lines because, 1) it's too hard and might crack, and 2) it's just too difficult. Tim McAmis says single flair stainless, says it's strong enough to not need a double flair. He's pretty sharp.
This is for a '65 Mustang street car that might see some road track time. Has all Wilwood brakes and installing all new stainless brake lines. Tubing is 3/16" x .028 wall seamless 316L. Having a heck of a time getting nice concentric double flairs with the tools I have. Single flair would sure make it easier but I'm not into easier if it means inferior or dangerous.
TIA

347 SB Ford finally off the dyno. Very satisfied with the results. 510hp @ 6300, 461 lbs/ft @ 5000 (on another pull), pulled clean to 7K. We had a lot of gremlins... had an oil pump that wasn't bypassing and exploded an oil filter, fixed that, then had some ignition issues with the efi which turned out to be the ecu. Had to replace that. I have to give a BIG BIG thanks to Tom @ 3V Performance for sticking with this and finally figuring it out. You went above and beyond and I really appreciate it.
Note; the lines in the valve covers were because there aren't any baffles under the breathers and they were making a mess. I'll fix that down the road.
