🔧 START HERE — This is Part 1 of a full 1971 F-250 Highboy restoration series
This truck didn’t come to me because it was easy.
It came to me because it was honest.
This is the start of my 1971 F-250 restoration — not a flip, not a quick refresh, and definitely not a “paint and pray” build. This truck has decades of work, rust, seized bolts, questionable repairs, and stories baked into every inch of it.
The goal isn’t perfection.
The goal is doing it right.
That means tearing it all the way down, fixing what most people ignore, learning along the way, and preserving what made these trucks legendary in the first place. Old steel. Heavy rivets. Real engineering.
This one’s going to fight me — and I’m okay with that.
Because when it’s back on the road, it’ll be right.
People always say "they don't make stuff like this anymore." I think I say that every time I put a wrench on this frame, it's thick steel, heavy, well made. Impressive since it was designed on paper without computers and lasted as long as it has.
Follow along — this is a full frame-off restoration series.
More to come. 👊
